Senior Data Engineer with Snowflake - Market Data Platform

Description

The team builds a new market data platform that supports the markets data strategy, with the aim of delivering governed, high-quality data at enterprise scale.

The role sits in the Prague office and follows a hybrid work pattern.

The role is a senior individual contributor position, with a focus on Snowflake and cloud data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines that move and process data while keeping it durable, complete and consistent.
• Design and implement data warehouses and data lakes that handle the required data volumes and velocity and meet the required security measures.
• Develop processing and analysis algorithms suited to the complexity and volume of the data.
• Work with data scientists to build and deploy machine learning models.
• Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership and senior management, on how functional and cross-functional work is affected and aligned.
• Assess and manage risks to support the control and governance agenda, and take ownership of risk and control in your team's work.
• Keep up to date with business activity and strategy by working with other business-aligned areas.
• Evaluate complex options with careful analysis, define problems and develop new solutions, drawing on in-depth research.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, using influence and negotiation to reach business goals.
• Guide technical direction as a subject matter expert, lead multi-year collaborative assignments, and coach less experienced specialists.
• Contribute to strategy, shape requirements, recommend changes, plan resources and budgets, and escalate policy breaches.
• Bring in other specialist areas where an assignment needs them.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with Snowflake in an enterprise setting, including data sharing, secure views and multi-tenant platform design.
• Strong skills in Snowflake database architecture, compute management and entitlement design to support governed data distribution at scale.
• Experience sourcing, onboarding and cataloguing third-party vendor data, such as licensed market data, for controlled internal redistribution.
• Solid working knowledge of AWS services (S3, IAM, Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, CloudFormation) and the Apache Iceberg table format for open, interoperable lakehouse designs.
• Demonstrable experience with Databricks would be valued.
• Experience with Apache Airflow to orchestrate and schedule complex data workflows would be valued.
• Familiarity with machine-readable metadata standards and how to use them for automated cataloguing and classification would be valued.
• Willingness and ability to work with teams across technology, business and vendor management would be valued.

Conditions

The role is hybrid and based in the Prague office.

The annual full-time equivalent base salary typically ranges from Kč 1,884,000.00 to Kč 2,496,000.00, depending on the level of responsibility and the experience of the individual.

The pay range covers base salary only and excludes other compensation and benefits.

The role is eligible for an incentive award.
