Description

This is an intermediate-level Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst role in the Technology function, full time.

You will help plan and build new or revised application systems and programs alongside the Technology team, supporting applications systems analysis and programming work.

The team builds the platforms behind the operations of the company's clients and traders, which form the base of its Prime Finance business. Prime Finance is a major growth target for the company, and technology is central to that growth.

Responsibilities

  • Build and deliver components for the core Prime Brokerage platform in Java and Kotlin.
  • Improve CI/CD practices and add automated tests as part of agile delivery.
  • Join design, planning and estimation sessions, and split work into technical tasks.
  • Work with business analysts and stakeholders to refine and clarify requirements.
  • Write and maintain project and technical documentation.
  • Spot and report potential risks and issues on your assigned tasks.
  • Take part in production support: diagnose faults, make enhancements and improve system reliability.
  • Work with a global team, run peer reviews and mentor junior analysts and graduates.
  • Analyse complex problems, assess business and system processes against industry standards, and make sound evaluations.
  • Contribute to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, and IT planning, including technology risk.
  • Oversee each development phase, from analysis and design through construction, testing and rollout, and support business users.
  • Recommend security measures and review how the system is used after go-live to confirm it works as designed.
  • Advise users, clients and other technology groups, and propose advanced programming solutions.
  • Help define operating standards and make sure essential procedures are followed.
  • Coach new or less experienced analysts.
  • Act as subject matter expert for senior stakeholders and team members, with limited direct supervision and independent judgement.
  • Weigh risk in business decisions with the firm's reputation and clients' assets in mind, follow applicable laws, rules and policy, and report control issues openly.
  • Other job-related duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Essential: strong Java skills and experience with test-driven development.
  • Advantageous: Kotlin; cloud tools such as Kubernetes and OpenShift; messaging systems such as Kafka, Solace and TIBCO; data stores and query tools such as SQL Server, Trino, Mongo and S3; observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Elastic Stack (ELK) and Grafana.
  • Recommended: 5-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Recommended: hands-on systems analysis and programming of software applications.
  • Recommended: experience delivering projects successfully.
  • Recommended: working knowledge of consulting and project management methods.
  • Recommended: able to stay effective when expectations or requirements shift and deadlines tighten.
  • Recommended: a bachelor's or university degree, or equivalent experience.

Full-time position based in Tampa, Florida, United States.

Salary range: $96,960.00 - $145,440.00.
