Item Master Engineer

Description

You join the Configuration Management team, which keeps the Gas Power Services Parts business running by setting up and maintaining engineering-related part attributes in the ERPs, using engineering data from PLM and feedback from the Parts organization.

Responsibilities

• Define the main attributes of part numbers in Oracle through the templating step that creates the product record.
• Keep the engineering side of the Item Master in Oracle accurate and current.
• Apply changes to part number setup in Oracle based on PLM output during change implementation.
• Take part in PLM change control for both the company-owned part numbers and vendor part numbers.
• Help Material Management, Sourcing, Finance, other engineering groups, IT and the process excellence team with ad hoc requests and Item Master projects.
• Test new Oracle ERP revisions from the Item Master perspective.
• Continuously improve the data quality of the Item Master in Oracle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, or a degree from a technical university or college, in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Able to read drawings and understand bill of material structures.
• Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English.
• Comfortable working in a matrix organisation.
• Proactive problem solver.
• Detail-oriented, organised, reliable team player who takes ownership of the work.
• Able to learn business operating systems quickly.
• Desired: comfortable with repetitive process work.
• Desired: solid computer skills in Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Enovia PLM, Oracle and SAP ERPs.
