International Commercial Senior Analytics Engineer

Description

The company is a luxury maison with more than 170 years of history, over 9000 staff from 105 nationalities, and teams spread across boutiques, workshops and corporate offices.

This is a senior analytics engineering role in the international commercial data team, reporting to the International Commercial Data Science Manager.

The role is weighted toward delivering complex analytics projects that feed commercial operations, with platform upkeep and architecture work as a smaller part of the job.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end technical delivery of major commercial analytics projects.
• Design, build and tune enterprise-grade data models in Google BigQuery using dbt and advanced SQL.
• Extend the LookML semantic layer and build high-performing dashboards and reports for key business stakeholders.
• Work closely with business partners to turn their requirements into clean, scalable technical solutions.
• Own the technical side of platform updates, architectural changes and system migrations so transitions run smoothly.
• Carry out light, ongoing upkeep of BigQuery models, dbt projects and Looker environments to keep performance, data quality and cost in check.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience optimising queries, managing schemas and building data models natively in BigQuery.
• Deep expertise in dbt and advanced SQL modelling.
• A proven record of building and managing Looker semantic models with LookML.
• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and process automation.
• Ability to run several high-visibility projects at once and deliver quickly without sacrificing code quality.
• Strong grounding in data architecture, with the ability to lead technical migrations, version upgrades and platform refactoring when needed.
• Experience working effectively with commercial teams, giving practical technical advice and guidance.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
