Integrated Data Analytics and Reporting (IDAR) Student Placement – Clinical and Statistical Programming (C&SP)

The company works across innovative medicine and MedTech, with the aim of preventing, treating and curing complex diseases.

The Integrated Data Analytics and Reporting (IDAR) function is recruiting university students for a 12-month industry placement in its C&SP department.

You will join a pharmaceutical research team and gain hands-on analysis experience on medicines in development.

The role uses data integration, automation and clinical insight tools, and works on projects that improve operational efficiency and meet business needs.

Responsibilities

• Apply your knowledge of data structures and AI programming in SAS, R and Python to analyse trial data and build solutions for business needs.
• Use AI-based programming to design statistical solutions for clinical research analysis and reporting, or build AI-driven tools that support C&SP.
• Work alongside C&SP colleagues on analyses across a range of disease areas.
• Research innovative solutions that could improve business processes.
• Design and build solutions with colleagues using SAS, R, Python, RPA, Power Automate and other tools.
• Create and maintain documentation for the solutions you build.
• Keep up with emerging technologies and trends.
• Your duties may include other tasks after you finish training, but are not limited to these.

Requirements

• Apply your knowledge and skills effectively in a complex environment.
• Work independently and with others in a fast-moving setting.
• Communicate well in writing and verbally.
• Solve problems and make sound decisions.
• Show strong analytical skills and attention to detail and accuracy.
• Have working knowledge of programming languages such as SAS, R and Python.
• Plus: experience with Databricks, LSAF, SAS Enterprise or other data science platforms.
• Have completed the first two years of a degree course.
• Have achieved at least a 2:1 in the first year of your degree.
• Preferred: a degree in mathematics, life sciences, computer science, data science or a related subject.

Conditions

The placement lasts 12 months and is open to university students.

Based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire or Maidenhead, Berkshire, United Kingdom.

The office is moving to central Maidenhead from October 2026, so check that this location suits you before applying.
