Description

You will set technical direction for the full imaging chain, linking optics, image signal processing, AI-based enhancement and image quality work, while also doing hands-on engineering yourself.

The role mixes system design, algorithm integration, coaching and cross-team work. You will partner with imaging engineers, optical module groups, chip suppliers and outside vendors to move new imaging technology into production.

The company makes AI-enabled cameras, edge and cloud analytics, and secure connectivity for video security. Its customers include critical infrastructure, transport, education, government and smart city projects. The portfolio includes NDAA- and TAA-compliant systems, more than 600 patents and over 60 years of engineering history.

The company is headquartered in Eindhoven, Netherlands. It became independent in 2025 after separating from a larger group and now sits within a European investment firm's portfolio. The group has four units: audio, video systems, intrusion and access, and electronics manufacturing services.

Responsibilities

  • Assess what the ISP can do, where it falls short, and how well it performs.
  • Advise on how the imaging software stack, built on third-party SDKs, should be designed and evolve.
  • Write and maintain architecture documents, design specifications and implementation guides.
  • Make the key technical decisions for imaging system development.
  • Build quick prototypes, scripts, test frameworks and validation pipelines to test new imaging ideas.
  • Track emerging imaging technology and AI-driven enhancement, and turn promising ideas into working engineering solutions.
  • Lead the adaptation and customization of vendor camera SDKs and imaging frameworks.
  • Own low-level work such as sensor bring-up, enabling ISP features, camera control loops and performance tuning.
  • Lead the merge of classical ISP algorithms, AI enhancement and post-processing into one real-time imaging pipeline.
  • Find and fix difficult image quality, integration and performance bottlenecks.
  • Make imaging solutions scalable, reliable and easy to maintain.
  • Run design, architecture and pull request reviews.
  • Help engineers through hands-on troubleshooting, debugging and pair programming.
  • Set and enforce software engineering practices and technical quality standards.
  • Mentor imaging engineers to speed up their technical growth.
  • Run workshops, training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Build a culture that values engineering excellence, new ideas and continuous learning.
  • Act as the technical link between optical module teams and imaging software teams.
  • Align requirements, technical solutions and priorities across disciplines.
  • Work closely with product management, hardware teams and system architects.
  • Lead technical discussions with external suppliers and technology partners.
  • Resolve issues, agree on technical direction and make supplier technology integrations succeed.
  • Assess supplier roadmaps and technical capabilities.

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in imaging systems, ISP development or image processing.
  • Solid grasp of camera imaging pipelines, image quality tuning and ISP architectures.
  • Experience putting image processing algorithms into embedded or real-time systems.
  • Working skill in Python and/or C/C++ for prototyping and algorithm development.
  • Experience leading technically, designing architecture and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience with AI/ML-based image enhancement techniques.
  • Knowledge of camera sensors, optics and optical characterization.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for embedded systems.
  • Experience working with external technology suppliers and partners.

Conditions

Flexible working hours.

Benefits

  • Salary that is competitive and set by your skills and experience.
  • Competitive bonus scheme.
  • 27 holiday days plus 13 ADV days.
  • Work for an international company on the newest technology.
  • Plenty of training for personal and professional growth.
  • A key part in building products that make the world safer.
  • Lead an enthusiastic, highly skilled team.
  • An international setting with room for innovation and initiative.
