Head of Content (Temporary)

Description

The company is hiring a temporary Head of Content to set the content strategy, lead and grow the team, manage outside partners, and work across departments.

The role suits a strategic thinker with a clear point of view who can challenge ideas, see what comes next, and carry concepts through to finished work.

Responsibilities

• Build a focused content strategy that fits business goals, defines target audiences, story lines and success measures, and spots culturally relevant chances to widen reach and engagement.
• Guide the creative side of content projects by shaping strong narratives and concepts and giving clear direction and feedback so the output is high quality.
• Own content projects from start to finish, keeping delivery quality high, operations under control and risks managed early.
• Work with cross-functional colleagues so content reaches the right audience on the right channel, and keep improving it based on performance data.
• Lead the content team by setting priorities, helping people perform well, and making sure work continues smoothly with clean handovers for the whole assignment.
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to keep everyone aligned and working well together, and handle the budget responsibly so high-impact content is delivered efficiently.

Requirements

• At least 7 years, likely as a Senior Content Executive or Executive Producer, developing and running live and non-live content strategy.
• A university degree in communications, journalism, film studies or a similar field.
• Experience managing several productions, budgets and partners, and a proven track record in social content ideation and production for leading companies and campaigns.
• Editorial skill and a solid grasp of storytelling fundamentals across long-form and short-form programming.
• Broad knowledge of media production methods, with experience writing for television, filming, editing and production management.
• Fluent English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Experience coordinating and guiding production partners and teams from concept stage through to delivery.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.

• Willingness to travel, with travel expected to take up 25% of the time.
