Description
The company is a global provider of analytics, technology and clinical research services to the life sciences industry. Its Global Health Economics consultancy has around 200 multidisciplinary professionals across 12 locations, working on projects in more than 50 countries.
Clients include top pharmaceutical and biotech companies, public health providers and regulators. They need evidence on safety, efficacy, effectiveness and cost-effectiveness across all therapeutic and disease areas, which keeps the work varied.
This role sits within the HTA Evidence & Strategy and Value Communications Centres of Excellence. It focuses on medical writing for health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) and HTA, working with a senior team to co-manage small workstreams, project tasks and thought leadership. Deliverables go to life sciences clients, payers, providers and regulators.
Typical projects include EU Joint Clinical Assessment (JCA) dossiers, HTA dossiers (mainly NICE, SMC and NCPE), global value dossiers (GVDs), payer objection handlers, value stories and messaging, literature review protocols and reports, evidence synthesis reports, health economic modelling studies, and peer-reviewed manuscripts and conference abstracts. You will work in cross-functional, cross-country teams, write, perform quality control and help manage delivery, including guiding and reviewing junior colleagues.
You will also support business development by presenting the broad payer-focused offerings in value communications, HTA strategy and HEOR. You will turn clinical, economic and real-world evidence into clear value narratives and payer communication strategies that support market access and reimbursement.
Responsibilities
Write high-quality content for GVDs, HTA dossiers (JCA, NICE and/or G-BA), HEOR study reports and payer materials such as objection handlers and value stories, with minimal input from the project manager.
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary, geographically spread teams.
Co-manage small projects, workstreams and thought leadership initiatives with senior colleagues. Guide junior writers, review their first drafts and take part in client management.
Run quality control on HEOR documents and keep audit trails of changes.
Mentor and train less experienced medical writers.
Help run medical writing training to build team skills and set quality standards.
Support the Centre of Excellence initiatives.
Manage your own time and workload, communicating clearly with project managers, your line manager and the resource manager so utilisation and compliance targets are met.
Requirements
Extensive medical writing experience in HEOR, HTA and payer materials.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic outlook that lets you spot issues early and propose fixes.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build working relationships with colleagues and clients.
Fluent conversational and business English, with clear scientific communication through slide decks, reports and presentations.
A degree in life sciences or a related field, epidemiology, or health economics and policy. A Master's is preferred.
About 5 years of medical writing across several therapeutic areas, including at least 3 years in HEOR or HTA. Direct experience writing GVDs or benchmark HTA submissions (such as NICE or G-BA dossiers), peer-reviewed publications and HEOR study reports or protocols.
Experience managing or coordinating delivery of GVDs or benchmark HTA submissions, or parts of them.
Familiarity with health economics and HTA processes, ideally JCA, NICE or G-BA.
Ability to produce high-quality content with minimal guidance from the senior lead.
Expert in Microsoft Word and other Microsoft Office tools, with strong attention to detail.
Self-motivated, quick to learn and able to work independently, asking for help when needed.
Strong time management and organisation, and comfort working at pace.
