The role is a Growth Director position in Copenhagen on a hybrid basis, sitting in the Experience & Engineering team.
The company is a Growth Invention firm with more than 4,000 specialists that helps ambitious brands grow. It works across technology and marketing, is split evenly between tech and marketing, is partner-led and moves quickly. Clients named include Google, Lufthansa, Meta, eBay and OpenAI. It has held B Corp certification and Climate Neutral status since 2021.
The team pairs engineering skill with design to build digital experiences for clients such as Bolia, Inter Milan, TDC and Logitech, aiming for lasting client relationships.
This is a tech-minded business development role centred on finding and shaping opportunities rather than high-volume outreach. You will spot openings from market shifts, client insight and technology trends, for example a retailer on an old stack that has a new digital lead and is preparing an ecommerce overhaul.
You will need enough technology knowledge to test assumptions and find the real problem behind a request. A brief that looks like an Adobe project may turn out to be about operating model, time to market or integration, and you will adjust the offer to match.
The role suits someone who enjoys building opportunities from scratch, assembling the right experts and turning complicated client problems into long-term partnerships.
Responsibilities
Find new business openings using client problems, market changes, organisational shifts and emerging technology.
Form an early view of a prospect's needs and work out why talking to the company would help them.
Turn vague client questions into clear commercial opportunities.
Question the initial brief to reveal the real business, customer, operational or technology issue.
Shape each opportunity before it moves into a formal proposal or pitch, setting the strategic direction and naming the capabilities and experts needed.
Build and maintain relationships with senior marketing, digital, ecommerce, product and technology decision-makers.
Run consultative conversations linking client goals to digital experience, engineering, commerce, data and AI.
Present confidently to senior clients, making complex subjects clear and commercially persuasive.
Earn trust as a partner by offering useful perspective, testing assumptions and pointing out opportunities the client has not yet seen.
Generate and qualify leads through targeted outreach, events, partnerships, existing contacts and work with marketing and client teams.
Own each opportunity from first insight through proposal and negotiation to signed agreement.
Keep the pipeline healthy and focused, and drive deals forward.
Log activity, forecast accurately and keep pipeline discipline in CRM tools such as Salesforce.
Lead pitches from qualification through presentation and negotiation.
Set the pitch strategy and story so it targets the client's underlying challenge, not only the stated brief.
Work with strategists, delivery leads, solution architects, creatives and subject-matter experts to build distinctive proposals.
Decide which capabilities and specialists are needed and bring them in at the right time.
Push teams to make proposals strategically sharp, technically sound and commercially strong.
Understand the company's capabilities across digital experience, commerce, engineering, cloud, data and AI.
Know how partners such as Adobe, Shopify, Optimizely, Bloomreach and Contentstack fit, and where they add value for clients.
Link opportunities across teams and capabilities so clients see transformation beyond one platform or implementation.
Requirements
Strong background in business development, consultative sales, digital transformation or a commercial client leadership role at a digital agency, technology consultancy, systems integrator or technology ecosystem partner.
A consultative mindset that builds opportunities from client problems, market insight and technology context rather than chasing existing leads.
Solid technology understanding of digital platforms, ecosystems, integrations and transformation. You do not need to be a solution architect, but must be able to guide and challenge technical choices.
Experience selling project-based digital or technology work, ideally involving digital experience, ecommerce, CMS, PIM, DAM, cloud, content supply chain, data or AI.
Ability to turn an unclear need into a focused opportunity, first proposition and pitch direction without depending entirely on strategists or technical experts.
Experience leading complex proposals and pitches with many stakeholders, disciplines and decision-makers.
Comfortable engaging senior stakeholders at director and C-level across business, marketing, digital and technology.
Disciplined approach to qualification, pipeline management, forecasting and commercial decisions.
Clear communicator who can make complex business and technology topics relevant and engaging.
Energy, curiosity and ownership, with a collaborative style that draws people into an opportunity.
Experience in a digital or technology agency, digital transformation consultancy or systems integrator with a strong digital-experience practice.
Background as a business director, commercial director, digital transformation lead, or strategist or consultant who has moved into a commercial role.
Experience selling services and solutions within a major technology ecosystem, not mainly software licences.
Familiarity with long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and enterprise buying processes.
Strong interest in how AI and new technologies are changing businesses, customer experiences and digital services.
