Description

The company builds rockets, spacecraft and critical subsystems for end-to-end space missions, from connecting and protecting the world to reaching the Moon, Mars and beyond.

The Marketing & Communications team turns complex aerospace work into stories and messages for key audiences. It covers media relations, social media, video, events, merchandise and design, and works across the whole business.

This brand designer role is onsite at the company's Auckland, New Zealand facility. You will make visual content for mission patches, merchandise, presentations, event graphics, digital campaigns and website content, and work closely with the Brand Design Lead and many other teams.

Projects range from technical renders and social campaigns to livery for rockets that will go to orbit. The role suits someone who wants to own work from concept to finished execution across several formats, and who can work without close supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Design high-quality graphics for digital, print, presentation and event use.
  • Turn complex aerospace technology into clear, engaging visual concepts.
  • Create branded assets for product launches, mission campaigns and corporate communications.
  • Design mission patches, vehicle livery and other unique aerospace applications.
  • Help produce video content, motion graphics and social media assets.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and internal stakeholders to deliver creative work on merchandise, conference booths, websites and printed collateral.
  • Help shape the company's visual identity as it grows.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional graphic design experience, plus a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
  • A portfolio showing strong brand design work.
  • Experience developing merchandise and swag, managing vendors through production to finished products.
  • A working understanding of typography, layout, color theory and visual hierarchy.
  • Nice to have: experience in aerospace, space, defense or deep-tech industries.
  • Nice to have: experience with motion graphics, video editing or 3D rendering software, which is a plus.
  • Nice to have: knowledge of web design principles and tools such as Figma or Sketch.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with 3D software such as Cinema 4D, Blender or KeyShot.
  • Nice to have: experience designing for live events, exhibitions or experiential activations.
  • Nice to have: ability to work in a fast-paced setting and adapt quickly when priorities change.
  • Nice to have: strong communication skills and the ability to present creative concepts.
  • Nice to have: a collaborative approach, taking direct feedback and iterating quickly.
  • Nice to have: a passion for storytelling and turning technical subject matter into compelling visuals.
