Description

Start in September 2027 on a permanent, two-year graduate programme with hands-on learning from day one.

The company builds AI compute, from semiconductors and software to systems at datacenter scale, for customers working at the AI frontier. It is owned by SoftBank Group and works with other companies in the SoftBank family.

You will work alongside AI researchers, chip designers and software engineers, learning from each other.

The Analysis Tools team sits close to the company's hardware and software stack. It gathers profiling data, processes it and turns it into insight developers can act on.

Decisions are based on profiling data, customer needs and the team's experience. You will be encouraged to ask questions, challenge current approaches and suggest improvements.

Over the two years you will build practical skills in software development, testing and performance profiling across libraries, command-line tools and graphical applications.

Debugging and code reviews will sharpen your engineering judgement, including how you investigate a problem, test an approach and act on feedback.

Supporting customers will show you their needs, help you explain technical findings clearly and show how your work fits into the wider hardware and software system.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and test features across libraries, command-line tools and graphical applications.
  • Help users see where time, memory and hardware resources are used, so they can optimise applications and resolve issues.
  • Fix bugs and guide end users on how to use the tools.
  • Connect software development with the hardware underneath, and see how profiling information helps developers get more from the company's systems.

Requirements

  • Programming experience in one or more languages, preferably Rust or TypeScript, gained through study, projects, internships, placements or practical work.
  • A methodical approach to debugging, testing and solving unfamiliar problems.
  • Some exposure to CI/CD pipelines, build tools, version control or team-based software development.
  • Clear communication, and a willingness to learn from feedback, ask questions and share ideas.
  • An interest in TypeScript, React, Rust, C++ or other technologies the team uses, along with curiosity about performance profiling, relational databases, memory management, multithreading or hardware utilisation.
  • You do not need experience with every technology the team uses.
  • Show these skills through coursework, a dissertation, personal or team projects, internships, placements or other relevant experience. Explain what you built or investigated, how you approached it and what you learned.

Conditions

Start date: September 2027.

Application deadline: midnight on 29 November 2026. Applications may close before then, so apply early.

Permanent role on a two-year programme.

You will hear the outcome of your application by early December at the latest.

If successful, you will complete a technical assessment. Candidates reaching the final stage will attend in-person assessments in early spring.

You must already have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the programme. Visa sponsorship is not available for Early Careers roles.

The company welcomes people from all backgrounds and is an equal opportunity employer; tell us if you need adjustments during interviews.
