Description

The company builds a financial operations platform for construction, a global industry worth $12T that still runs largely on software built 20-40 years ago.

It raised a $15M Series A led by Accel, bringing total funding above $20M, and it is growing fast.

It has 550+ customers and is backed by Accel and Y Combinator, with investors including Procore, Autodesk, and Plaid.

The three co-founders have worked together for 12+ years, first at Graphiq (acquired by Amazon in 2017) and then at Amazon.

The team is small and high-caliber. Hiring is the main thing limiting growth right now.

The API already handles millions of requests per day, and that number rises daily.

Interview process: each stage ends with a decision within 24 hours and an update shortly after. The intro (15min) is an informal chat about the role and your past projects, where you show you can code and explain your work. The coding round (50min) is with a Founding SWE, who asks 1-2 questions in your preferred language and looks at how you write, test, and debug code and weigh tradeoffs. The customer needs round (50min) asks you to design a feature for a real application component, with more ambiguity than a typical coding question. The on-site, in person in SF with the trip paid, is a real-world coding exercise based on a ticket, done with a coding assistant and check-ins with engineers, followed by lunch with the team and a behavioral interview.

Responsibilities

  • Research every system the company supports or plans to support, then design generic, system-agnostic features such as filters and pagination.
  • Help unify data objects, data models, authentication, and account-linking UX across dozens to hundreds of fragmented systems under one standard the company sets.
  • Connect to on-prem systems (SQL-based, DLL-based, API-based), many built 20-40 years ago, so customers can use them securely and reliably as if they were modern cloud products.
  • Add real-time communication and webhooks where the source system lacks them, for example with web-sockets.
  • Store and retrieve large amounts of data efficiently for API-powered products like Analytics, using caching layers that cut latency.
  • Keep a reliable API layer over old systems with no APIs, while widening integrations and speeding up development.
  • Build scalable testing frameworks that catch edge cases and bugs across 1k+ endpoints.
  • Work on back-end and front-end code, including apps like Sync and Analytics that run on the company's own APIs.
  • Study each new integration in depth before building on it, since every system has its own quirks.
  • Ship code daily and iterate based on feedback from paying customers.

Requirements

  • Recent college graduates with strong internship or co-op experience are the target, ideally from a top undergraduate university.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.
  • You are self-motivated, take high ownership, and keep your ego low.
  • You enjoy a fast-paced, intense, fun team and want to help build a world-class engineering culture.
  • You are willing to work in person in San Francisco 5 days a week.
  • Prior experience with the company's tech stack or at a B2B SaaS or API company is not needed.

Conditions

Competitive equity, so you share in the upside you help create.

Annual performance bonus when company growth goals are hit. For 2026 the bonus is 15% of your base salary or OTE. These bonuses have been paid for the last 3 years and are expected to continue.

401(k) with a 100% match on your contributions, up to 4% of annual salary.

Healthcare with several plan options that covers 90% of your costs, plus a healthy share of dependent costs.

HSA with a $100 per month company contribution.

Up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave for all new parents, including adoptive and foster parents.

Relocation: a sizable bonus for moving to the Bay Area, plus an extra bonus for anyone, including current Bay Area residents, who moves within a 15-minute walk of the office.

Pre-tax commuter contributions, and the full cost of a Muni pass if you take public transit.

Company-paid trips to the SF HQ at least every other month. Remote teammates have trips scheduled during 'remote visit' weeks.

Visa sponsorship (H1B, TN, etc.) for candidates who are a good fit.

The office is at 101 New Montgomery Street, San Francisco, near Salesforce Park, coffee shops, and restaurants. The team has built in person since day one and will keep an in-person culture in SF for Bay Area candidates.

Equal-opportunity policy applies.

Benefits

  • Early stage with high upside but less risk than most startups: thousands of contractors already use the product and growth is steep. Major early risks such as an unproven product, no market validation, and no revenue have already been addressed.
  • You get a lot of impact, direct work with customers, and technical problems you will not find at larger companies.
  • AI products are the fastest-growing part of the business, and a third of new deals include one. Eight new channel partnerships were signed in the last month alone.
  • The founders are experienced, intense, and ambitious. The co-founders worked together for 10 years, first at a startup Amazon acquired, then at Amazon, and now here. You will get outsized ownership and a front-row seat to building a company from the ground up.
  • Most of the team moved to SF from Canada, SoCal, Texas, and Virginia to build the company from scratch.
  • Construction is the world's third-largest industry, and few startups target it. Teams chasing trends like blockchain, metaverse, or LLMs leave the field open, giving the company a multi-year head start.
  • Backed by world-class investors (Accel, YC) and construction insiders, including Procore and Autodesk executives and founders of large construction tech companies like PlanGrid.
  • Breakfast and dinner stipends through DoorDash, plus a kitchen stocked with coffee, snacks, and drinks.
  • On-site gym with Peloton, squat rack, Tempo, a yoga setup, and more.
