Description

The company is a global leader in smart, healthy, and sustainable solutions that help organisations run buildings and businesses more efficiently, improve safety, cut energy use, and lower environmental impact across healthcare, education, infrastructure, commercial real estate, manufacturing, and government.

With over 140 years of innovation and operations in more than 150 countries, the company pairs advanced technology with deep sector knowledge to make environments smarter, safer, and better connected.

You will join the NSW Systems team as a graduate engineer and build practical experience designing, programming, testing, commissioning, and delivering Building Management and Control Systems (BMCS). You will work next to experienced engineers and technical specialists on a range of projects, developing your skills in smart building technology, automation, and energy-efficient systems.

The role is a strong start for an engineering career at a large international company, with structured training, mentoring, and access to leading technology.

Responsibilities

  • Help design, program, test, and commission BMCS to meet customer specifications, company standards, and quality requirements.
  • Support the creation and rollout of control strategies for new and existing installations, covering both company and third-party systems.
  • Help design and build graphical user interfaces and system visualisations that follow customer and company standards.
  • Take part in software testing and validation to confirm that systems perform to customer and quality requirements.
  • Work with senior engineers to diagnose system faults and help put fixes in place.
  • Contribute to project documents, design reviews, and quality assurance work.
  • Help deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, customers, subcontractors, and site staff to get good project results.
  • Provide technical input to the pre-sales and engineering teams on system designs, layouts, and proposals.
  • Keep building your technical knowledge through training, mentoring, self-study, and project work.
  • Show an active commitment to workplace health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Comply fully with the company's Safety, Health & Environment Management System (SHEMS).

Requirements

  • Completed or in the final stages of a Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic, Control Systems, or a related engineering field.
  • Keen interest in building automation, smart buildings, HVAC controls, industrial automation, or control systems.
  • Basic knowledge of control systems, instrumentation, networking, or software programming.
  • Advantageous: experience with engineering software, IT systems, or server environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a readiness to learn.
  • Clear communication and good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team made up of several disciplines.
  • Full Australian working rights.

Conditions

You must hold Australian working rights, as only applicants with them will be considered.

Hiring includes pre-employment checks: reference checks, medical assessments, criminal history checks, and drug and alcohol screening.

Benefits

  • A structured graduate program with mentoring from experienced engineers and industry specialists.
  • Hands-on work with leading building management and control technologies.
  • Chances to work on high-profile commercial, healthcare, education, infrastructure, and government projects.
  • Ongoing technical training, professional development, and career progression.
  • A collaborative team.
  • Access to the company's global resources, expertise, and career paths.
  • The chance to help create smarter, safer, healthier, and more sustainable buildings.
