GPS Engineer

The company is a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions, used in the foundation of nearly every new semiconductor chip and advanced display worldwide.

Its equipment is key to AI and to bringing next-generation semiconductor chips to market, and the team works on advancing materials science and engineering in that electronics setting.

Responsibilities

• Create service procedures and Best Known Methods (BKMs) for new products, and take part in the FMECA process.
• Take part in or lead the first chamber Build & Test in the Apps lab. Resolve issues yourself or work with Engineering on those found. Work with Manufacturing on procedures and, when needed, join New Product final test.
• With the Quality & Reliability (Q&R) group, review and resolve top field issues. Take part in or run the CAPA process, and lead or support Failure Analysis (FA) when needed.
• Write up procedures for installation (start-up), retrofit and maintenance in Technical Product Manuals.
• Write new procedures, Customer Engineering Notices (CENs), Internal Service Bulletins (ISBs) and troubleshooting guides as needed.
• Gather process and qualification data to build product BKMs.
• Build the initial training package for new products and work with Global Technical Training (GTT) on the class. Train Customer Engineers (CEs), Process Engineers (PSEs) and Technical Product Support (TPS) staff assigned to customers receiving ELS shipments, before those shipments go out.
• Identify new parts that need stocking at AGS and make sure they are kept in the right locations.

Requirements

• Show solid practical and conceptual expertise in your discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
• Know best practices, how your area fits with others, and how competitors differ in the market.
• Support less experienced colleagues and lead small projects with manageable risk and resource needs.
• Solve complex problems, view existing solutions from a new angle, and judge using several sources of information.
• Affect customer, operational, project or service work across your team and related teams, within broad guidelines and policies.
• Explain difficult or sensitive information and help build consensus.

Conditions

Full time, Assignee / Regular employee type.

Travel: 20% of the time.

Relocation eligible.

Based in Santa Clara, CA.

Salary range: $124,000.00 to $171,000.00. Pay depends on location, hire grade, job knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity with current team members.

For sales roles, the posted range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range: base salary plus target bonus at 100% goal achievement.
