The company's aeronautics systems group is hiring for its team in El Segundo, CA, and the role may be filled at either the GNC Engineer or the Principal GNC Engineer level, based on your qualifications.

The team works on guidance, navigation and control for aircraft.

Responsibilities

• You will design, build, check and test algorithms, software and simulation tools for aircraft guidance, navigation and control.
• You will run statistical processing on measured data and feed the results into algorithms that model physical reality.
• You will write the equations needed to reach a target position, orientation or orbit.
• You will develop control laws and set the hardware and software requirements that aircraft control design and analysis depend on.

Requirements

• GNC Engineer: a Bachelor of Science in a relevant STEM field with 2 years of related engineering experience, or a Master of Science in a relevant STEM field with 0 years of related engineering experience.
• Principal GNC Engineer: a Bachelor of Science in a relevant STEM field with 5 years of related engineering experience, or a Master of Science in a relevant STEM field with 3 years of related engineering experience, or a PhD in a relevant STEM field with 1 year of related engineering experience.
• You must be able to obtain a Secret clearance from the US government.
• You must be able to obtain and keep Special Program Access (SAP). The company sets the time frame for getting SAP, which must be reasonable for its business needs.
• Preferred for both levels: you already hold an active Secret clearance from the US government.

Conditions

The work is based in El Segundo, CA, and travel is 10% of the time.

A Secret clearance is required before you start.

The primary level salary range is $91,800.00 to $137,600.00, and the secondary level salary range is $114,000.00 to $171,000.00.

These ranges are a general guide. The company sets base pay by considering the scope and responsibilities of the role, your experience, education and skills, and current market conditions.
