Description

The company is a tech-powered creative group that combines creativity, technology, intelligence and experience to help well-known brands redesign the products, services and spaces their customers use.

The work covers everything from product strategy and human-centred digital experiences to the AI platforms and design systems behind them.

The Design & Digital Products team works like a studio inside a global consultancy, with small, skilled teams and a short path from design decisions to shipped products.

The company has around 70 studios and more than 4,000 designers and makers across six continents.

AI is the basis for how the team builds products, and it is helping define how AI-native products are designed and delivered at enterprise scale.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering of AI-native digital products from concept to production, and set the technical standard for how the practice delivers them.
  • Work with business and technical stakeholders to define problems, set priorities and turn needs into orchestrated AI workflows.
  • Design and build enterprise-ready AI agents with retrieval, orchestration, policy-based routing, tool calls, evaluation harnesses and lifecycle observability.
  • Turn complex AI behaviour, such as confidence levels, reasoning traces, agent actions and fallback paths, into clear, controllable and accessible interfaces with experience and product designers.
  • Build abstraction layers across providers, including Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Google Vertex AI and open-source models, so pipelines stay portable and clients avoid lock-in.
  • Help build AI component libraries and design system patterns for error states, human-in-the-loop steps and progressive disclosure of AI reasoning.
  • Ship reliable AI systems at scale using containers (Kubernetes, Docker), microservices, serverless and event-driven designs.
  • Own CI/CD, infrastructure as code (Terraform, Helm), monitoring and debugging, and take responsibility for what you deploy to production.
  • Build working prototypes that connect design ideas with technical reality, using AI tools to speed up your own delivery.
  • Act as the main technical voice with clients: frame problems, explain trade-offs against business goals, and speak clearly to engineers and executives.
  • Run design sprints, co-creation sessions and code-with workshops, bringing clients into the process.
  • Define and track evaluation measures for agent accuracy, latency, cost and safety, and use the data to improve live systems.
  • Document reusable patterns, architecture decision records and best practices.

Requirements

  • Experience building cloud-native systems, including APIs, microservices, containers and serverless architectures.
  • Proven production experience with agentic AI: agents, multi-agent orchestration, context engineering, RAG pipelines and workflow automation.
  • Hands-on work with Anthropic Claude, OpenAI or Google Vertex AI, and experience building across several providers.
  • Strong Python skills, plus at least one of Java, TypeScript or C, and experience with evaluation tools, logging and agent observability stacks.
  • Production deployment experience: CI/CD, infrastructure as code (Terraform, Helm), monitoring, incident response and debugging.
  • Fluent English, enough to run workshops, present to executives and write technical documentation.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • You are comfortable writing production code, sketching system designs, facilitating client workshops and mapping roadmaps, and you work well when problems are unclear.

Conditions

You are embedded directly with clients as a technologist, product thinker and engineering partner, not in a back-office role.

You work in cross-functional studio teams alongside product designers, experience designers, product managers and strategists.

Flexible working models are supported.

Equal opportunity: hiring decisions are made without regard to age, race, religion, colour, gender, national origin, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, marital status, citizenship or other legally protected status.

Benefits

  • Bonus: AI certifications or demonstrated agentic tooling experience is a plus.
  • Bonus: experience across design and engineering, such as contributing to design systems or working with UX and product designers on AI-powered experiences.
  • Bonus: a background as a product engineer, solutions architect or forward-deployed AI engineer in a consulting, agency or product studio.
  • Bonus: knowledge of responsible AI, including guardrails, content filters, human-in-the-loop design, bias evaluation and fallback strategies.
  • Bonus: experience across industries such as retail, finance, healthcare or media, adapting agentic workflows to sector processes and compliance rules.
  • Bonus: a portfolio of shipped work, such as apps, agents, open-source contributions, hackathon projects or startup experience.
  • Bonus: German, good to have but not mandatory.
  • Meaningful career development, with the backing of a large global company and its client relationships.
