GenAI Full-Stack Engineer Lead

Description

The company is hiring a hands-on engineering lead to build AI-powered products and shape engineering culture. You will give technical direction while staying close to the code, working with teams across the organisation on scalable developer platforms, engineering strategy and the adoption of Generative AI and modern engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of enterprise applications that support critical business functions and large user bases.
• Stay involved in architecture, system design, code reviews and engineering decisions.
• Set technical direction across frontend, backend, APIs, cloud services and platform components.
• Work with senior technology and business stakeholders to line up platform strategy with organisational priorities.
• Deliver business-critical programmes that get significant operational and executive attention.
• Promote engineering quality, DevSecOps, platform engineering and continuous improvement.
• Coach engineering managers, principal engineers and senior engineers, building a culture of technical standards and accountability.
• Push the adoption of developer platforms, automation and enterprise engineering standards across several teams.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading software engineering organisations while still writing code.
• Strong software engineering skills in modern languages and frameworks, with hands-on coding in one or more of Python, Go, TypeScript, JavaScript or React.
• Experience delivering AI-enabled or Generative AI solutions in enterprise settings.
• Experience building enterprise-scale cloud-native applications with Kubernetes, containers, microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Strong grasp of distributed systems, resiliency patterns, scalability and performance engineering.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL technologies, API design and integration patterns.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to shape technology decisions across many teams and organisations.
• A growth mindset and a genuine interest in mentoring, coaching and developing technical people.

Conditions

Based in the company Belfast, with a hybrid model of up to 2 days working from home per week.

Full-time role.

The base salary is reviewed annually.
