GCP Data Architect

The CEE team has close to 1,000 specialists building applications, data platforms and AI solutions for clients including Millennium, ING, Play, Edenred, Arabian Drilling, FedEx, Leroy Merlin, Truecaller, Volotea and Schmitz Cargobull. The team works with AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks and Snowflake, and places value on consulting skills, growth and knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities

• Design and build a modern data platform on Google Cloud.
• Design data and application architectures, model data flows, write architecture documentation and help guide key technology choices across the platform.
• Define end-to-end data processing solutions and choose suitable GCP services for them.
• Design integrations.
• Support disaster recovery and data retention mechanisms.
• Help introduce CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Lead architecture workshops with technical and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Show proven experience designing data architectures on Google Cloud Platform.
• Have designed end-to-end data ingestion and processing solutions.
• Know BigQuery and either DBT or Dataproc.
• Have experience with data modelling and data-flow design.
• Understand Medallion and Hub & Spoke architecture patterns.
• Have selected and integrated GCP services such as Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, BigQuery and Composer.
• Have designed synchronous and asynchronous integrations and event-driven architectures.
• Know data retention, purging and disaster recovery concepts.
• Have worked with GitHub Enterprise Cloud, CI/CD and Terraform.
• Can produce HLD, LLD and ADR documents and architecture diagrams.
• Communicate well, presenting, justifying and defending architectural decisions.
• Have run workshops and worked with business and technical stakeholders.
• Have experience with enterprise-scale cloud data platforms.
• Have worked in highly regulated environments.
• Are familiar with cloud governance, security and operational best practices.

Conditions

You must be able to work from the European Union region and hold a work permit.
