Senior Data Engineer (Stockholm)

The CEE unit has close to 1,000 specialists building modern applications, data platforms and AI solutions for well-known clients across many sectors, using AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks and Snowflake. The unit pairs engineering depth with a consulting approach and places a strong emphasis on learning and sharing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Shape the architecture for handling user data across Airflow, Spark, dbt and BigQuery, covering encryption points, derived tables, backfills and partitioning.
• Move existing pipelines over one at a time, building a regression harness that confirms their outputs stay the same.
• Set up the team's working practices for after the migration: pipeline change reviews, testing standards, incident post-mortems and release checklists.
• Clean up pipelines by removing duplicated steps and copy-pasted logic.
• Build verification jobs that show data lifecycle rules are followed end to end.
• Coach a data engineer so the team can run the migrated pipelines on its own.
• Share pipeline upkeep and incident response, and fix root causes.
• Record important decisions in short architecture decision records.

Requirements

• Hands-on depth in Airflow, Spark, dbt, BigQuery and Python.
• Have led at least one pipeline migration from start to finish.
• Have changed a live pipeline and proven its output stayed unchanged.
• Have introduced testing, code review and incident handling, and helped a team adopt them consistently.
• Have mentored someone with a concrete outcome.
• Make hands-on technical calls while supporting and guiding other engineers.
• Experience with encryption at rest and data retention or deletion compliance, for example GDPR.
• Experience with envelope encryption and a key manager such as GCP KMS, BigQuery AEAD functions or Tink.
• Experience with BigQuery column-level security, policy tags or Data Catalog.
• Experience with Config Connector (KCC) for managing GCP resources from Kubernetes.
• Experience working with Kafka events.
