Description

The company is a technology firm within a global consulting group that works only with the US federal government, supporting defense, national security, public safety, civilian, and military health agencies. Its 13,000+ staff aim to use technology to make the nation safer and improve public services.

The team is collaborative and invests in its people, with hands-on work, certifications, and industry training to help members learn and grow.

This role sits where software engineering, data work, application building, and customer needs meet. You will work closely with end users and technical and mission stakeholders to quickly design, prototype, and launch data-driven applications. Requirements are often unclear at the start, so you will help shape them into Palantir solutions, test early versions with users, and grow the strongest prototypes into scalable applications. You should have hands-on experience building applications on a large platform, including Workshop, Ontology, Objects, Models, and Custom Widgets.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with end users, product owners, analysts, and technical stakeholders to learn their mission and business problems and turn them into technical requirements.
  • Design user interfaces that let operational staff work with complex data without needing deep technical skills.
  • Build and configure Ontology Objects, Object Types, Properties, Relationships, Actions, and the logic behind them.
  • Use Palantir's Envision Ontology to model operational entities, relationships, workflows, and business processes.
  • Set up models and their outputs so they work inside user-facing applications and workflows.
  • Build and connect Custom Widgets when standard application components fall short of user or mission needs.
  • Quickly create proofs of concept, minimum viable products, and prototypes to test requirements and show possible solutions.
  • Run iterative build sessions with users, collect feedback, and update designs fast.
  • Turn vague or changing stakeholder needs into clear, defined technical solutions.
  • Work with data engineers and platform teams to link applications to datasets, pipelines, Ontology Objects, models, APIs, and services.
  • Diagnose issues across applications, the Ontology, data, and integrations in environments such as Palantir and Databricks.
  • Take part in demos, design sessions, technical reviews, and user acceptance testing.
  • Write up solution architecture, application setup, Ontology designs, requirements, workflows, and technical decisions.
  • Help move successful prototypes into operational or production use.
  • Follow the team's established practices for development, configuration management, testing, security, and releases.

Requirements

  • Experience with one or more of the following: Palantir AIP and AI-enabled application development.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: AIP Logic or AI-assisted workflows.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: large language models (LLMs), RAG, or AI-enabled applications.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: API and external-system integrations.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: advanced Ontology modeling.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: TypeScript/React-based Custom Widget development.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: data pipeline development or transformation.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Agile or Scrum development environments.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Jira, Git, or similar development-management tools.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: government, defense, intelligence, logistics, workforce, financial, or other mission-focused data environments.
  • An active TS/SCI clearance is required.
