Description

The team is hiring a Data Engineer to help evolve the core platforms SMP, DV and DSR.

The role covers designing, building, supporting and modernizing the data and application systems that business operations and product delivery depend on.

You will bring an engineering approach across data processing, software development, platform reliability and operations, working in a SAFe Agile setup while mentoring junior engineers and improving security, data quality, observability, scalability and performance.

The company is a consumer intelligence firm formed in 2023 when two industry leaders combined. It operates in 100+ markets, covering more than 90% of the world's population, and is an Advent International portfolio company.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver robust software and data engineering work that fits business needs and the product roadmap.
  • Take an active part in SAFe Agile ceremonies: PI Planning, Sprint Planning, reviews and retrospectives.
  • Design, build, test and ship scalable applications and data processing solutions.
  • Work across the full SDLC, from gathering requirements to production release.
  • Lead data quality efforts across the platforms.
  • Enforce security standards, secure coding practices and compliance rules.
  • Keep raising platform reliability and quality metrics.
  • Strengthen Quality Management Reviews (QMR) by monitoring proactively and resolving issues early.
  • Provide L3 production support and run root cause analysis on critical incidents.
  • Improve observability through better monitoring, alerting and logging.
  • Find and carry out performance tuning in applications and databases.
  • Drive scalability work so the platforms can handle growing business and data volumes.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for fast, dependable releases.
  • Apply solid engineering practices such as code reviews, automated testing and DevOps principles.
  • Take part in modernization work and reduce technical debt.
  • Use modern practices and emerging technology, including Agentic AI, to raise productivity, automation and software quality.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers through knowledge sharing, technical guidance and code reviews.
  • Work closely with Product Managers, Architects, Business Analysts and engineering teams.
  • Join technical discussions, design reviews and architecture decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
  • 5+ years in data engineering, software engineering or backend development.
  • A track record of building enterprise-grade applications and data processing solutions.
  • The ability to diagnose complex production problems and drive them to resolution.
  • Experience with Agile and SAFe development environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and helping a team grow.
  • Programming: Python, Java, SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Data work: data modeling, data quality management, performance tuning, ETL/ELT processes and relational databases.
  • DevOps: GitHub, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
  • Quality and security: Zephyr Test Management, Cycode, secure development practices and vulnerability remediation.
  • Platform engineering: observability and monitoring, scalability and performance engineering, L3 production support and reliability engineering.
