Full Stack Engineer

Description

The company builds internal websites, web applications and standalone Python tools. The current front end uses FastAPI and Vue 3, and the back end runs on Red Hat Linux and Microsoft SQL Server. A move to AWS, Azure and Snowflake is planned.

The team looks for technical leadership, an entrepreneurial mindset, follow-through until projects are finished, strong problem solving, excellent verbal and written communication, intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm, high emotional intelligence and solid people skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, improve and maintain internal websites, web applications and standalone Python applications.
• Build both the front-end user interface and the back-end application and database.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or Engineering.
• 3+ years working professionally on full stack web applications.
• Full stack capability on both front-end and back-end web development.
• Experience designing application architecture.
• Expert-level skill in object-oriented Python, JavaScript, Node.js and SQL.
• Practice of test-driven development.
• Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS, jQuery, Ajax, Flask, FastAPI and Vue.js.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL databases.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, WebSocket and sockets.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure and Snowflake.
• Git version control.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Technical writing for proposals, documentation and tests.
• Desired: data analytics, HighCharts and AG-grid controls.
• Exposure to these areas: Common Code, Object, DTE project, Web Server and App Server, Python, FastAPI, Web Server front end, JavaScript, Vue, JSON, API, real-time, Python Requests library and Unit Tests (PyTest).

Conditions

Some roles may be subject to U.S. export controls under the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (15 CFR §743.13(b)) for prospective employees who are nationals of countries under embargo or sanctions.

The company may use your application to decide whether it must obtain an export license for you, which can take 3 to 6+ months, or put a Technology Control Plan (TCP) in place, which typically adds 2 weeks to hiring.

For export-controlled roles, final offers depend on an approved export license and/or an executed TCP before the start date. This may or may not be flexible and must fit within a timeframe that does not unreasonably delay the hire. Candidates will be told of any requirements.

You may be required to show current proof of vaccination against certain diseases, including COVID-19. Details vary by role.

Pay is set mainly by the job level at which the role is filled and the candidate's qualifications, consistent with applicable law.
