Full-Stack Developer (AVP)

Description

The role sits in the Technology team, which supports the company's securities business across North America and EMEA, working closely with technology and business leadership in both regions.

You will help build a new Securities Settlements Stock Record platform. It must handle high trade volumes, shorten real-time and batch reporting timelines, and reduce risk through stronger data quality controls.

The team is part of a global firm with more than 230,000 people and operates in over 180 countries, handling about $5 trillion of daily flows through its network.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain resilient, high-performance microservices and RESTful APIs in Java and Spring Boot, using enterprise integration patterns.
• Build responsive, accessible single-page applications and user interfaces in Angular or React.
• Model, tune and manage Oracle relational databases, covering query performance, indexing and data consistency.
• Use AI tools where they fit to speed up development work.
• Make sure all code meets the company's standards for code quality and test coverage.
• Package and run containerized workloads with Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Put code through automated CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, Tekton or Harness, with quality checks, automated tests and security scans.
• Carry out feasibility studies, technical assessments, time and cost estimates, and IT planning that match business strategy.
• Oversee every phase of the software development life cycle, from requirements and architecture through coding, testing and production release.
• Apply application security standards, role-based access controls and vulnerability fixes throughout the application lifecycle.
• Act as a subject matter expert, mentor junior engineers, run code reviews and write technical documentation.
• Work largely on your own judgment with product managers, architects and other stakeholders.
• Identify and manage risk, following firm policies, regulatory requirements and governance frameworks.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a full-stack development role.
• Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working in agile teams that move quickly.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to stay effective under pressure while handling deadlines and changing requirements.
• Experience building software with agentic AI-driven workflows.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, J2EE and the Spring stack.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and Oracle databases is essential.
• Expertise in system design and microservices architecture.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with trunk-based development, feature flags and progressive delivery.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with code reviews, vulnerability assessments and secure coding.
• Familiarity with cloud-native tools such as OpenShift, Kubernetes and Docker.
• Nice to have: hands-on Kafka experience.
• Nice to have: Apache Camel expertise.
• A bachelor's degree or university degree, or equivalent experience.
• The role may also include other duties as needed.
