Front-End Engineer

Description

The company is a luxury group with several brands in jewelry, watches and high-end accessories. Each brand keeps its own heritage and identity while creating new products through ongoing design work.

The team is looking for a skilled low-code application developer and integration specialist to help speed up digital change by building flexible, creative tools that connect with the existing SAP landscape.

Responsibilities

• Build sturdy, scalable business apps on Mendix, SAP BTP, or both, including tools such as SAP Build Apps and the Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP).
• Work with business teams to grasp their needs, turn them into technical specifications, and suggest fresh solutions.
• Take part in every stage of delivery, from requirement analysis through production release and support.
• Connect new applications securely and reliably to SAP systems such as S/4HANA and ECC, and to third-party software, using Mendix integration features, SAP Integration Suite and other API technologies.
• Design and put in place sound, secure integration approaches.
• Fix defects and extend existing Mendix and SAP BTP applications.
• Tune application performance and keep to security and quality standards.
• Serve as the in-house expert on Mendix and SAP BTP, sharing good practice and coaching colleagues when needed.
• Track progress in low-code tools and the SAP ecosystem and recommend ongoing improvements.
• Write technical and functional documentation.
• Carry out unit and integration tests and support user acceptance testing.

Requirements

• A degree in computer science, software engineering or a closely related technical field.
• At least 3 years of substantial application development experience, mainly on low-code platforms.
• A Must: proven experience building and shipping apps on Mendix, with working knowledge of its concepts such as domain models, microflows, pages, widgets and integrations.
• Preferable: proven experience building apps on SAP BTP, plus knowledge of its key services such as SAP Build Apps, CAP, SAP Integration Suite, SAP HANA Cloud and SAP Analytics Cloud.
• A sound grasp of key SAP modules such as ERP, EWM, S/4HANA and Fiori, enough to build integrations. Expert-level functional knowledge is not needed, but a solid understanding of SAP data and processes is essential.
• Understanding of integration principles, including SOAP APIs and XML.
• Familiarity with relational databases and data modelling.
• A plus: programming in Java, JavaScript or Node.js for pro-code extensions on BTP.
• Experience working in Agile teams using Scrum or Kanban.
• Fluent English is required. French is a plus, spoken and written.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-driven, proactive and keen to take initiative.
• Able to collaborate with business users and other technical teams.
• Rigorous, organised and detail-oriented.
• Curious, and willing to keep learning and developing.
