Forward-Deployed Product Manager

Description

The company builds AI tools that help law enforcement search evidence and solve crime, acting as digital analysts for public servants at every level of criminal justice.

Agencies across the U.S. use the platform on cold cases, homicides, gang conflicts, sexual assault and other serious offenses, as well as day-to-day administrative work.

In this role you sit with the people using the product. You will work directly with public safety users, turn their needs into product workflows, and influence how the AI platform supports investigations in the field.

The job combines building, organizational mapping and user advocacy, and expect about 1.5 times the usual effort.

Your work will shape how public safety agencies adopt AI.

Responsibilities

• Build customer deliverables and carry them through to completion.
• Take part in steering committee meetings.
• Create product mockups.
• Run customer training sessions.
• Apply first-principles thinking to ideal user experiences, then turn those ideas into working execution.

Requirements

• You work quickly and reliably, with close attention to detail.
• You communicate with executives and frontline users alike, both verbally and through clear written artifacts and deliverables, often in person.
• You solve hard problems with tools. You are not a data scientist, but you figure out how to run data analysis and other technical tasks.
• You are motivated by public safety and by making U.S. law enforcement and prosecutors more effective.
• You take ownership without waiting to be asked, and you are bothered by sloppy or unclear work.
• You are willing to take on unglamorous work when it moves the company forward, with low ego and high standards.
• You have 3+ years of relevant experience.

Conditions

Preferred location: New York City.

Bay Area, California, with hybrid arrangements available.

Remote with regular travel is possible for exceptional candidates.

Travel 25-75% of the time.

Salary $135k-$190k, with potential for significant adjustment based on experience and ability.

Eligibility: US citizen/visa only.

The company supports employees through the FBI background check and CJIS clearance process as needed.
