Forward Deployed Engineer, AI Transformation - Senior Vice President

Description

The company is building out its AI capabilities and is looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to lead part of that work. You will sit alongside business process owners and technology leaders to rethink core business processes from the ground up.

You will help set sound principles for designing agentic solutions and build reference solutions that show what AI can do for efficiency. You will also help other teams adopt those reference solutions across different business areas and train newer engineers so the company's AI work lasts and scales. The work draws on the full range of the company AI tools, including the growing library of AI agents.

This role suits someone who can solve problems creatively, combines technical depth with an understanding of the business, and is genuinely interested in AI. You will translate business problems into technical solutions and find places where AI-driven automation makes sense, then turn those ideas into working systems.

Responsibilities

• Work with business stakeholders to examine current processes, workflows and friction points, then rank the areas where AI would have the greatest effect.
• Design AI-based solutions quickly and build proofs of concept and, where it makes sense, minimum viable products that show the solution works and is worth doing.
• Act as the technical interpreter between non-technical business users and engineering teams, making sure requirements are understood and the resulting solutions actually fit the need.
• Keep up with the fast-moving AI field, including new tools, methods and good practice in machine learning, natural language processing and generative AI.
• Set the key performance indicators used to judge how well each AI initiative works and what it returns.
• Help write thorough documentation for new AI-driven processes, and train and support business users so they can adopt them successfully.

Requirements

• You have 3 to 5+ years of hands-on technical experience, for example in software engineering, data science or machine learning engineering.
• You have deep, practical experience with LLMs and AI agents, along with core machine learning concepts (supervised and unsupervised learning), natural language processing and data modeling.
• You can work out what a business problem really requires and turn it into technical requirements and solutions.
• You communicate clearly and can explain complex technical ideas to people without a technical background.
• You approach problems analytically and proactively, and have a record of delivering new solutions.
• Preferred: prior experience in a forward deployed, consulting or other client-facing technical role.
• Preferred: hands-on work with a major cloud platform (AWS, Google Cloud or Azure) and its AI/ML services, such as SageMaker, Vertex AI or Azure ML.
• Preferred: familiarity with data engineering, including ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing and large datasets.
• Preferred: knowledge of a particular business domain, such as payments, or finance and operations at financial services firms.
• Education: a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Conditions

Full-time role based in Tampa, Florida, United States, with a salary range of $141,440.00 to $212,160.00.
