Description

The finance data product analyst is the dedicated FP&A analytics resource, owning the work from requirements intake through to engineering handoff across core FP&A areas.

Today these tasks are spread across leads with no dedicated capacity. This role aims to speed up turnaround, give clearer ownership across GLTD, Revenue, CapEx and HC, and cut rework in later deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the dedicated FP&A analyst for intake: collect, clarify, write up and rank business requirements from Finance stakeholders in GLTD, Revenue, CapEx and HC.
  • Turn business requirements into structured technical specifications and data model requirements for the onsite senior analyst and the engineering team.
  • Own the handoff to engineering: make sure specs are complete, clear and validated before development starts, so fewer cycles are repeated.
  • Run data validation, reconciliation and UAT support to confirm delivered models and reports match business intent and source data.
  • Trace data through existing EDW models to answer stakeholder questions, find discrepancies and record root causes for engineering to fix.
  • Coordinate onsite and offshore teams: manage the requirements backlog, track delivery, raise gaps or conflicts and keep each handoff on schedule.
  • Maintain business requirements documents, data dictionaries, test cases and process guides.
  • Spot business needs that AI or ML could address and turn them into actionable requirements.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years in BI analysis, data product analysis or finance analytics support.
  • Solid grasp of FP&A concepts such as general ledger, revenue recognition, CapEx planning, headcount reporting and cost center hierarchies.
  • Working SQL to query, trace and validate data across EDW layers. You do not need to build pipelines.
  • Experience gathering requirements, documenting them and translating business needs into technical terms.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake or a similar cloud data platform from an analyst or consumer viewpoint.
  • Experience with Tableau or a similar BI tool to validate reports and do basic analysis.
  • Strong written and spoken communication, including writing clear specs and working across time zones with onsite teams.
  • Detail-minded, with a structured way of tracking deliverables and handoff checklists.
  • Preferred: familiarity with SAP Finance or ERP data (GL, AP, AR, cost center structures).
  • Preferred: enough exposure to AI and ML to see where AI-assisted analytics could help FP&A work.
  • Preferred: experience in offshore delivery models with structured SDLC or agile processes.
  • Preferred: knowledge of data governance and data quality practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, computer science, mathematics, information systems or business.

Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered under fair chance laws.

Preference goes to qualified candidates who do not live, and do not plan to live, in Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina or Tennessee.
