Field Support Engineer II

In this role you work with limited supervision to install, repair, upgrade and maintain the company's medical instruments at customer sites in your territory.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and fix every product in your assigned territory, including preventative maintenance, installations and upgrades, following your training, the manuals and the company's guidelines.
• Plan, set up, confirm or change customer visits by weighing each customer's needs, including the financial effect on their practice and their patients' wellbeing.
• Send a field service report every day, following the written procedure in the field service reference database.
• Submit an expense report each week under company policy.
• Keep spare parts stock as the guidelines require and return parts when policy calls for it.
• Help grow revenue by selling and keeping service agreements.
• Deal with customers professionally, politely and calmly.
• Look after company property, including inventory, tools, diagnostic equipment and your vehicle, under company policy.
• Keep clear, professional communication with your team, customers, management, Sales and Technical Support.
• You may also be asked to teach customers how to run and maintain the equipment.

Requirements

• Have at least three years of related experience in electronics, fine mechanics, optics or medical field service.
• Be able to think through difficult customer problems and reach results customers are satisfied with.
• Be self-directed and work independently with limited management oversight.
• Manage several projects and your time well.
• Be able to pass the required training to service fine mechanics and optics, and then service the equipment you were trained on.
• Hold a BS in electronics, engineering, computer technology or a related field (preferred).
• Hold A+ and Net+ certifications (preferred).

Conditions

Based in Fairfax, VA or the D.C. area, covering the Southeast territory.

Overnight travel 3 nights a week after training.
