Field Engineering Co-op

Description

You will join the company's water technology team as a field engineering intern and work with experienced professionals in industrial water treatment. You will support water treatment systems and help the group meet its yearly goals.

This is a full-time co-op running from May 2027 through August 2028, based in Hamilton, ON.

It designs and builds solutions for decarbonization, depollution, and resource regeneration, and its water team works on scarcity, quality, productivity, and energy problems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare system drawings and PFDs for on-site manuals and proposals.
• Run wet tests on water samples in the laboratory.
• Watch process equipment performance through online monitoring tools.
• Help complete monthly reports.
• Track bulk chemical stock and order chemical products when needed.
• Carry out field checks on process equipment, including flows, pH, conductivity, and chemical residuals.
• Work with supervisors to find ways to improve plant equipment.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with basic chemistry tasks such as titrations, pH and conductivity readings, and simple lab instruments.
• Basic mechanical skills to help troubleshoot chemical feed equipment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Visio, and online data management tools.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to set priorities and deliver on time when the workload is heavy.
• Full-time availability from May 2027 through August 2028.
• Current enrollment as a rising junior or senior in an undergraduate program in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, or chemistry.

Conditions

Pay is set against the market for similar benchmarked roles and is a guide rather than a fixed figure. Offers depend on the candidate's knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and internal peer equity, so they may fall above or below the range of $24.72-$27.30 CAD.
