Field Engineering Co-op

Description

The role is a full-time co-op in field engineering for industrial water treatment, working alongside experienced professionals on water treatment systems and supporting the team's annual goals.

The co-op runs from May 2027 through August 2028.

Responsibilities

• Create system drawings and PFDs for on-site manuals and proposals.
• Run wet tests on water samples in the laboratory.
• Monitor process equipment performance through online tools.
• Help complete monthly reports.
• Manage bulk chemical stock and help order chemical products when needed.
• Carry out field checks on process equipment, including flows, pH, conductivity and chemical residuals.
• Work with supervisors on ways to optimise plant equipment.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with basic chemistry work such as titrations, pH and conductivity measurements, and simple lab instruments.
• Basic mechanical skills to help troubleshoot chemical feed equipment.
• Skill with Microsoft Office, Visio and online data management.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Full-time availability for 14-16 months starting May 2027.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in chemical, environmental, industrial or mechanical engineering, or a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in chemistry.
• Other science-based technical programs and degrees will also be considered.

Conditions

Pay is set against the market for comparable roles and is a guide rather than a fixed figure. Offers depend on the candidate's knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and internal peer equity, so they may fall above or below the range of $24.72-$27.30 CAD.
