Description

The company is building a digital sports platform that serves fans across commerce, collectibles, and betting and gaming, with a sportsbook and iGaming product in development.

The company is a new business within a larger sports platform group, sitting where collectibles, culture, and technology meet. It is backed by investors, operators, and sports and entertainment partners, and it reaches about 900 sports properties and more than 81 million fans through the wider group.

The role is based in New York City and centres on relationships: you will run the executive referral program, build a bench of senior talent, and lead full-cycle hiring for selected VP and above roles.

Responsibilities

  • Grow the top-performer referral program by finding referral sources, bringing them into the collectibles network, and holding the program to a high bar.
  • Track every executive referral from first contact to final decision and keep each candidate engaged along the way.
  • Maintain a curated bench of warm, actively managed leaders across every key function, and keep adding to it through ongoing outreach and market mapping.
  • Keep executive referral data in Greenhouse accurate, with profiles tagged, stages up to date, and outreach logged.
  • Send weekly reports to talent acquisition and business leaders covering referred candidates: screens, hiring manager conversations, offers, and full pipeline outcomes.
  • Run end-to-end recruiting for some VP and above roles in all non-tech functions, from kickoff to close, using existing pipelines and relationships.
  • Work directly with the C-suite and senior leaders to define role requirements, success profiles, and the leadership standard for each hire.
  • Manage relationships with executive search firms with finance: set engagement terms and expectations, track deliverables, and hold firms to the hiring bar and timeline. Decide when to run a search in-house and when to bring in a retained firm.
  • Use LinkedIn Recruiter and LinkedIn Talent Insights to map executive markets, spot movement, and build targeted slates.
  • Conduct executive-level screens and assessments, and present well-prepared candidates to senior stakeholders.
  • Lead complex offer negotiations and manage executive onboarding with People Operations.
  • Build and steward the executive bench as a strategic asset, tracking senior leaders' movement, motivation, and availability so candidates are ready when a VP+ role opens.
  • Grow your network on purpose through referral sources, former colleagues, search firm contacts, industry events, and New York's sports and media community. Use LinkedIn Talent Insights and AI tools to produce market maps and competitor intelligence that uncover new names.
  • Share executive talent signals and bench updates with talent acquisition and business leaders on a regular schedule, not only when a role opens. Flag notable names and people on the move so leaders can engage the bench.

Requirements

  • More than 10 years in talent acquisition, most of it spent on executive and VP+ recruiting, with a record of managing relationships and finding talent proactively.
  • Proven experience managing executive search firms and getting strong results from a retained partner.
  • Deep expertise in LinkedIn Recruiter and LinkedIn Talent Insights, including building an executive market map from scratch and assembling a confident slate.
  • Strong executive presence and communication, with the ability to work comfortably with C-suite stakeholders and represent talent acquisition at the highest level.
  • An established executive network built on trust, credibility, and long-term relationships that you can draw on for future hiring.
  • Experience with AI recruiting tools and a real interest in using them for executive search.
  • High emotional intelligence, discretion, and a proven ability to adapt and flex.
  • Based in New York City, with strong local knowledge and a network across the city's sports, media, consumer, or technology sectors.
  • Tools you will use: LinkedIn Recruiter, LinkedIn Talent Insights, Greenhouse, AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Glean (or equivalent), executive search firm management, Slack, Airtable, and Charthop.
