The Research and Development team drives innovation across the group, testing new technologies and investing heavily in artificial intelligence to improve products and services.

This role manages strategic software engineering projects that shape the company's technology direction and help teams deliver reliable solutions at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of software engineers, building a high-performing, collaborative culture where people own their work.
• Work with Product Managers and other stakeholders to set priorities, goals and delivery plans that match business and organisational targets.
• Keep engineering initiatives on track by clearing blockers, managing risks and making sure outcomes are of high quality.
• Give technical direction, guide architecture decisions, shape the technology roadmap and set engineering standards.
• Work with cross-functional teams so engineering work reflects the product vision, customer needs and business goals.
• Take part in hiring, career development, resource planning and continuous improvement to grow the engineering organisation over time.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of software engineering experience, including a record of leading teams and delivering complex technology projects.
• A strong software development background and the ability to guide architecture, platform and product evolution.
• Solid experience with cloud-native technologies, distributed systems and modern delivery practices.
• Broad knowledge of software, data and infrastructure, so you can work effectively with engineers in different domains.
• A proven ability to align engineering execution with product strategy, business goals and organisational priorities.
• A strong plus: experience in a product-centric environment and in building scalable digital products.
• A proven ability to evaluate and adopt AI-powered tools and practices that improve engineering effectiveness, team productivity and delivery.
• Advanced English, C1 level.

Conditions

Full-time role with a total compensation of €57,000 to €78,000, including a variable component tied to performance.

A four-day working week, giving you one extra day every week.
