Description

The company makes emergency communication and threat intelligence software that helps organizations protect staff and operations during incidents, from identifying a threat to recovery.

The role is a Director, Solutions Engineering, working with the sales organization to help prospects see the value of the platform. It is a hands-on player-coach job: you stay involved in deals while building, mentoring, and growing a Solutions Engineering team over time.

The company is backed by Vista Equity Partners and supports thousands of businesses, including JetBlue, Coca-Cola Bottling, and Walmart, in more than 150 countries.

The team works from a shared goal and values people, customers, simplicity, and hard work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop Solutions Engineers through regular 1:1s, career planning, performance feedback, and coaching on technical and sales skills.
  • Define and carry out a regional technical strategy so the team is enabled, certified, and able to lead value-based technical conversations across the platform.
  • Standardize and keep improving Solutions Engineering practices, including demo flows, discovery methods, and proof-of-concept frameworks.
  • Join forecast and pipeline reviews with Sales leadership to make sure active and upcoming deals have the technical support they need.
  • Lead technical discovery, solution design, and demos for high-value or complex accounts, acting as the technical voice and trusted advisor through the sales cycle.
  • Build prototypes, technical spikes, or custom integrations to unblock complex deals or inform product direction.
  • Lead technical discussions with CIOs, CTOs, and other senior stakeholders, turning platform capabilities into clear business outcomes.
  • Work with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success to pass field insights to the company and shape the platform roadmap.
  • Represent customer needs between customers, Sales, and Product, using real use cases to influence the roadmap.
  • Balance hands-on technical work with team development, leading by example on technical depth, consultative selling, and customer advocacy.

Requirements

  • 8-10+ years in Solutions Engineering, Pre-Sales Engineering, or Solutions Architecture at a SaaS company.
  • 2-3+ years in a people leadership role.
  • Track record in high-growth SaaS, including work with API-driven integrations and cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong grasp of sales methodologies such as MEDDICC, and experience working closely with Account Executives.
  • Able to move between strategy, coaching, and hands-on troubleshooting with ease.
  • Care about giving customers an excellent experience through thoughtful, consultative problem-solving.
  • Strong prioritization, project management, and organization in fast-paced, changing environments.
  • Able to explain complex technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, in writing and speaking.
  • Skilled at building rapport and setting expectations with stakeholders, including executives.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, with experience adapting in fast-changing settings and helping shape an evolving sales process.
  • Enjoy working across teams and bring a shared-goal mindset.
  • Strong coaching mindset and a desire to help others grow in their careers.
