Description

This is a maternity leave cover role for Director, Paid Search, reporting to the Senior Director, Performance Marketing.

The company is moving its paid search stack into an autonomous era, covering its largest multi-million dollar performance digital channel across its global portfolio.

The focus is on Google, Bing and OpenAI, with the aim of making the search stack competitive for years to come.

You will work with teams across the organisation, including Pricing and Discounts, MarTech and Analytics, and with in-house experts and dedicated technical and account management teams on joint business and technical plans.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the global paid search team and build it into a centre of excellence for Search internationally, including next-generation platform capabilities.
  • Design and build a modern, scalable, future-proof paid search infrastructure across Google, Bing and OpenAI.
  • Audit the Search account setup on all three platforms against best-in-class standards, finding gaps and modernisation opportunities.
  • Own the paid search strategy and set the direction across search channels as the team moves into the autonomous era.
  • Set and reallocate budget across markets, brands and channels to hit volume growth and CPA/CAC targets, with rigorous forecasting and reporting.
  • Act as the strategic lead and escalation point for external agencies and platform partners, including Google, DSPs and mobile platforms, setting the agenda on plans, investment and innovation.
  • Work with Marketing Analytics to run tests across search portfolios that measure incrementality and marginal efficiency, then refine in-house systems and algorithms to scale search profitably.
  • Partner closely with MarTech to take the search stack further into automation.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record, or proven relevant experience in a performance marketing or highly commercial role at a D2C or subscription business.
  • 8+ years of experience in the Google advertising ecosystem, from an agency or client-side role.
  • 5+ years of experience in team management and leadership.
  • Expert knowledge of Google bidding, targeting and optimisation.
  • Experience running every Google campaign type, such as Keyword Search, PMAX and Shopping.
  • Experience working with performance marketing metrics and platform reporting.
  • Experience with media mix models, multi-touch or data-driven attribution, or other advanced measurement methods.
  • Proven experience building and embedding incrementality-based measurement frameworks, such as geo-testing, regression or multi-touch attribution, and partnering with Analytics on marketing mix modelling and advanced measurement.
  • Early experience with or exposure to OpenAI's Search offering or other emerging AI-driven search platforms.
  • Industry certifications in Google and Bing Ads.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • You see how platform evolution and automation are changing paid search strategy, understand both traditional optimisation and next-generation platform capabilities, and treat transformation as both a challenge and an opportunity.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset: you take ownership, make bold data-driven decisions, pursue new solutions to drive sustainable growth, and are comfortable with ambiguity, testing new approaches and learning from both wins and setbacks.

Conditions

This is a maternity leave cover position.

The role is based in a global team structure with reporting to the Senior Director, Performance Marketing.

  • Play a key part in changing how millions of people eat as the company grows into a global food solutions business.
  • Your decisions will have a direct and immediate impact on strategy, team growth and leadership in a fast-changing business.
  • Help build a global brand that forms deeper, more lasting connections with customers, who sit at the centre of every decision.
