The company's strategy covers hyperscalers, AI labs, the AI hardware supply chain, data platform providers and the wider AI ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Core Platform engineering organization of more than 20 people, which builds the foundational architecture under our flagship storage product's data storage.
• Lead and direct the teams that own metadata infrastructure, resource allocation and system configuration, keeping the platform reliable with zero downtime and fast at very large scale.
• Give the data reduction work direction and stability so an early-stage capability matures into a core product asset that sets the company apart.
• Oversee cross-functional projects that consolidate shared infrastructure across the main product lines, managing complex architectural dependencies and strict testing.
• Coach engineering managers and mentor technical staff, building a lasting culture of craft, accountability and ongoing operational improvement.
• Set and enforce reliability standards, automated testing practices and proactive technical debt management to keep the business units healthy over time.
• Work with peer engineering groups, Architecture and Product Management. The platform you help build will serve the company's global scale for years.

Requirements

• A proven record of leading multiple engineering teams through managers, stabilizing complex organizations and developing leaders.
• A substantial background in systems software, distributed systems or storage infrastructure, enough to discuss complex technical trade-offs with senior engineers.
• The ability to analyze complex issues across functional areas, build consensus in sensitive situations and negotiate technical direction with product and architecture partners.
• Sound judgment on enterprise infrastructure health, including managing budgets, setting performance requirements and building testing frameworks where correctness is critical.

Conditions

This is a primarily in-office role. You will work from the Santa Clara, CA office under company policies, except during PTO, work travel or other approved leave.

The annual base salary range is $263,000 - $395,000 USD. Pay is set by role, level and location, and for roles open in several locations the range reflects the labor market across them.
