Description

The telemetry pipeline is the shared ingest layer for observability, security, and search. It collects data from any source, processes and routes it, and stores it either in the company's search store or in the customer's own object storage. It is built on open standards such as OpenTelemetry and Prometheus.

This director role owns the pipeline from end to end and leads the product managers who work on it. The goal is to make bringing data into the platform as easy as possible for every product and customer.

Responsibilities

  • Set the strategy and roadmap for data collection, ingestion, processing, routing, and the integrations framework.
  • Define and track KPIs that measure product and feature adoption.
  • Work with the product leaders for observability, security, and search to build a shared service all of them can use.
  • Make data ingestion self-service, so a first data point arrives within minutes.
  • Lead a distributed team of product managers and help them deliver measurable results.
  • Set roadmap priorities using input from customers, internal teams, and the community.
  • Work with engineers and designers to scope and shape strong features.
  • Give sales, marketing, and partners clear messaging and positioning.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years in product management, including at least 4 years leading product managers in data infrastructure, observability, or data pipelines.
  • Deep technical knowledge of telemetry ingest, including OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, log processing, routing, and agent management.
  • Experience shipping SaaS products with usage-based pricing and building platform capabilities that several product lines share.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A plus: familiarity with the company's core stack.

Conditions

Remote-friendly distributed company with flexible locations and schedules for many roles.

Export licensing: people located in or nationals of Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, or Russia, including the Ukrainian regions annexed by Russia (Crimea, the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, Kherson, or Zaporizhzhia), may need an export license as a condition of employment. National origin and nationality do not affect eligibility.

Accommodation requests are welcome for candidates with disabilities. Eligibility does not depend on age.

Benefits

  • Pay based on the work you do, not your previous salary.
  • Health coverage for you and your family in many locations.
  • Parity of benefits across regions, adjusted for local regulations.
  • A generous number of vacation days each year.
  • A company match of up to $2,000 (or the local currency equivalent) for financial donations and volunteer service.
  • Up to 40 hours each year for volunteer projects.
  • At least 16 weeks of parental leave.
