Description

The company is a major media and entertainment business that makes film, television and streaming content, runs theme parks and experiences, and sells consumer products. It is a subsidiary of Comcast Corporation.

This is a senior individual contributor role that owns the customer data platform product area inside the martech team's customer experience platform group.

The customer data platform is a single global platform that provides the identity and audience data layer for three streaming propositions. The role is the main entry point for customer data platform requests from the martech teams of all three.

Every solution must be designed for global use first and scale across all three products, rather than being built for one product alone.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main contact for the marketing and martech teams of all three products and own every incoming customer data platform request.
  • Spot data quality and data collection gaps early, and suggest improvements that help scale lifecycle and marketing operations.
  • Turn stakeholder needs into clear platform requirements that work across all three products, not only the one that asked.
  • Own and rank the backlog by weighing urgency against platform impact and engineering capacity.
  • Keep documentation and roadmap status current and visible to all partners.
  • Work with Decision Science and Engineering to define business requirements for instrumentation, such as event schemas, platform events and data capture, in line with global standards, and rank delivery by business need.
  • Work with Decision Science on pipeline requirements, new attribute builds and feed delivery so data reaches downstream systems correctly.
  • Own delivery milestones, testing and QA sign-off, linking marketing stakeholders with the technical teams that build and run the platform.

Requirements

  • 5 to 8+ years of product management experience, including at least 3 years in a customer data platform, data platform or martech infrastructure setting, in a requirements, product or delivery coordination role.
  • Working knowledge of at least one enterprise customer data platform such as mParticle, Segment, Adobe CJA, Tealium or an equivalent, enough to turn business needs into platform requirements and talk with technical teams.
  • Solid understanding of platform event schemas, identity resolution, audience segmentation and data feed architecture.
  • Proven experience working with engineering on instrumentation requirements and with data engineering on pipelines and attributes.
  • Experience with Agile or SCRUM development is required.
  • Background in streaming, subscription or B2C consumer products is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in any field (BS or BA) is required; a technical or data-related background is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with downstream activation tools such as Braze, Branch and adtech platforms, and with Snowflake, is a strong plus.
  • Ability to gather and rank requirements from many marketing stakeholders with competing products and deadlines.
  • A platform-first mindset that looks for solutions that scale across several products.
  • Empathy for marketing and growth teams, and the curiosity to find the real need behind each request.
  • Sound business judgment to balance short-term delivery against long-term platform health.
  • Comfort in a matrixed setting, building alignment across engineering, data and marketing at different seniority levels.
  • Enough technical understanding to work well with engineering and data engineering without owning the platform.
  • Willingness to change priorities quickly across a global, multi-product organization.
  • Ability to self-manage several workstreams on tight schedules.
  • A positive, collaborative and energetic approach in a fast-moving streaming business.
  • You must have the legal right to work in the United States.

Conditions

This is a hybrid role. You must work from the office at least four days a week, and the company may change in-office requirements at any time.

The base salary range is $150,000 to $190,000.

The company is an equal opportunity employer that values an inclusive workforce.

Benefits

  • Eligible for company-sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a range of discounts and perks.
  • Eligible for bonus and long-term incentive pay in addition to base salary.
