Description

You will lead the strategy, build, launch and ongoing running of the core Commercial Card portfolio. You set the product direction and plan, working with Sales, Technology, Risk, Operations, Marketing and outside vendors to deliver durable solutions. You act as the go-to expert on Commercial Card and payments, using performance data, client input and industry trends to sharpen the offer, improve the client experience, manage risk and grow revenue and profit steadily.

The ideal candidate has deep Commercial Card experience, preferably from several card issuers or payment firms. You can win over senior leaders, run cross-functional work, and explain complicated product topics to technical and non-technical listeners alike.

The company provides capital markets products and services to corporate, government and institutional clients. It has more than 6,500 professionals in 40 cities, and its offering includes underwriting, advisory, market access and integrated transaction banking. In 2023 the company acquired a U.S. firm, adding an equities business and an equity research group.

The team will contact candidates of interest to arrange an interview and aims to share outcomes with all applicants by email or phone.

Responsibilities

  • Set and maintain the Commercial Card product vision, strategy and multi-year roadmap, in line with business goals, market openings and changing client needs.
  • Own the full product lifecycle: discovery, business cases, requirements, pricing, positioning, launch, rollout, performance tracking and continuous improvement.
  • Research markets, competitors, clients and the industry to find growth, emerging trends, unmet needs and ways to stand out.
  • Turn strategy and client feedback into product specifications, user experiences, features and customer-facing upgrades.
  • Work with Sales, Technology, Risk, Operations, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Compliance and external providers to deliver initiatives and clear client or business blockers.
  • Build lasting ties with key corporate clients and distribution partners to gather insight, check priorities and reflect client needs in decisions.
  • Create positioning, sales enablement material and training that help win, deepen and keep corporate clients.
  • Track usage, transaction volume, revenue, profitability, adoption and customer experience, and use the results to shift strategy and investment.
  • Identify, assess and manage product, operational, regulatory, credit and payment risks within the organization's risk appetite and control standards.
  • Redesign end-to-end processes covering development, implementation, use, reporting, feedback and governance.
  • Run structured problem-solving and decision sessions with internal teams, vendors and other stakeholders.
  • Present reviews, forecasts, recommendations, investment needs, risks and decisions to senior management.
  • Stay current on Commercial Card, payments, digital tools, regulation and competitor moves, and apply that knowledge to the portfolio.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Commercial Card product management experience, including corporate payment solutions, processing, credit risk, regulatory requirements and industry practice.
  • A track record of building product strategy, running roadmaps and taking initiatives from concept through launch and later optimization.
  • Skill at spotting market gaps, building business cases, setting priorities and shaping the direction of a product management function.
  • Strong analysis and financial judgment to read product performance, customer behavior, market data and reports, and decide on evidence.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Commercial Card, payments, digital technology, market and competitor trends.
  • Excellent written, spoken, presentation and client-facing communication, including explaining complex topics to non-technical people.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influence, with experience leading cross-functional teams and working with senior leaders, clients and external partners.
  • Strategic thinking and sound judgment, with structured problem-solving and the ability to balance client value, growth, risk and delivery.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, juggle several priorities, meet deadlines and keep quality high.
  • Advanced ability to plan, lead, implement and evaluate initiatives while owning the outcomes.
  • Proficiency with analytical and reporting tools; intermediate or higher Microsoft Excel skills and close attention to data quality.
  • Working knowledge of standard operating procedures and control expectations for Commercial Card products.
