Description

The company's Marine Systems group, part of its Mission Systems unit, is hiring a hands-on Digital Systems Engineer for the Digital Ecosystem Team in the Synergy Department.

The team builds digital engineering capabilities for programs across the Marine Systems Division, starting from the earliest stage of that work.

This is a dual-level opening, so you may be hired as a Digital Engineer or a Principal Digital Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Work with technical and non-technical stakeholders to map out how data and tools are used and what they need.
  • Learn the current engineering and operational processes and systems, and what each one does, so you can help shape the digital ecosystem.
  • Help run a technical and technology assessment and produce a recommendation for digitizing core business and engineering functions.
  • Help draft a Digital Ecosystem Architecture roadmap and implementation plan that lines up with what the business is trying to achieve.
  • Build the systems architecture in Cameo Enterprise Architecture, covering behavioral, structural, and analytical views.
  • Help put the Digital Ecosystem recommendations into practice.
  • Help create data models and metadata standards that make data integration and analysis easier.
  • Help build a model-based engineering environment that links system architecture, requirements, 3D product definition and CAD, analysis models, and engineering and manufacturing data across the product lifecycle.
  • Work across business and technical functions to identify new tools and tool integrations that support the digital thread.
  • Define interface specifications for ongoing tool integrations and apply sound modeling practices so models can be built cleanly and teams can work together.

Requirements
