DevOps Lead with Telco experience

Description

The role covers managing software applications across their full lifecycle, from release and monitoring through upkeep and tuning, so they meet business needs and deliver value.

You will work on one of the company's key accounts in the telecom sector, alongside colleagues in Romania and across the wider company.

You will give technical direction, make sound calls in unclear situations, and own critical technical results.

The company consults for leading brands in many industries and builds digital platforms and smart digital experiences. It has been doing this for over two decades.

Responsibilities

• Give technical direction and guidance to the wider team, and mentor members to build their skills.
• Design and set up network, security and cloud infrastructure.
• Provision, configure and troubleshoot large-scale RAN platforms and their infrastructure.
• Build and maintain test environments and lab IT infrastructure services.
• Write and manage automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code, using tools such as Terraform.
• Handle infrastructure and test-tool issues through ticket-based support, and keep operations stable and environments reliable.
• Run test environment pooling and cluster verification on large systems.
• Track system performance and apply changes that improve efficiency and lower operating costs.
• Oversee security and compliance across infrastructure and cloud environments.
• Plan capacity and manage resources so infrastructure assets are used well.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders and vendors, keeping service delivery on track and escalation paths clear.
• Write up infrastructure configurations, processes and runbooks so knowledge stays with the organisation.

Requirements

• You have at least 5 years of work experience in telecommunications.
• You have at least 3 years of recent hands-on work provisioning, integrating and troubleshooting large-scale RAN platforms.
• You understand networking well, including IP protocols, routing and firewall design.
• You are highly skilled at Linux administration, including system commands and troubleshooting infrastructure.
• You have deep knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• You have solid knowledge of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) principles and how they are applied.
• You have proven experience with radio emulators such as DICE, C1, L1BP, C2RS/MIB and CTX.
• You have verified experience validating clusters on large-scale systems.
• You have established experience designing and managing cloud infrastructure.
• You are proficient with Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform.
• You have advanced experience using Kubernetes to orchestrate and manage containers.
• You solve complex problems and troubleshoot in a systematic way.
• You communicate technical ideas clearly and work well with people from different disciplines.
