Description

The company builds advanced jet engines, engine components and integrated systems for commercial and military aircraft, and is working on new aviation technologies.

This is a staff-level role that leads all digital work on an advanced program and brings together engineers from several disciplines around one modelling approach.

You will work with internal and external stakeholders to set the modelling approach and write standard work for building, using, connecting and controlling the models.

The team is working on manufacturing, fuel and noise reduction, and productivity improvements across the global business.

Responsibilities

  • Understand all digital requirements for the program and deliver every digital aspect while working in a matrix organization.
  • Lead the systems engineering processes for research and development and new product introduction programs, with a strong focus on Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using a range of techniques, methods and tools.
  • Streamline systems engineering processes so advanced technology programs run faster and at lower cost.
  • Design and simulate systems with models to compare alternative architectures and automate validation and verification.
  • Turn system functional requirements into efficient software and firmware architectures.
  • Create innovative technical solutions using the full capabilities of GE Edison Works for development programs and proposals.
  • Guide and mentor less experienced engineers.
  • Write and keep up systems engineering planning documents.
  • Work with customer engineering teams to define and shape requirements for future platforms and systems.
  • Model and analyse the safety aspects of product design.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or a similar field from an accredited university or college.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Model Based Systems Engineering.
  • You must obtain and keep a US Government security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.

Conditions

Relocation assistance is provided.

The base pay range is 112,000.00 to 149,000.00 per year. Final pay depends on factors such as experience, education and skill set.

The role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of base salary, or commission, depending on the plan.

The role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information, so you must prove U.S. person status as a U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. citizen, or someone granted asylee or refugee status.

The company only employs people who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.

Any offer is conditional on passing a drug screen where applicable, and employees may be subject to random and reasonable-suspicion drug and alcohol testing.

Benefits and plans may be changed or ended by the sponsor at any time, and the document does not form a contract of employment.

The posting is expected to close on November 16, 2026.
