DevOps Engineer (Database Administration & Cloud Infrastructure) - Aveiro

Description

The team is looking for a DevOps engineer who knows database administration and infrastructure well. You will need a track record in installing, configuring, and running databases, including high-availability setups, replication, backup and recovery, performance work, and troubleshooting. Solid Linux and networking skills are required. Cloud, Kubernetes, and container experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and run PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MongoDB databases.
• Keep database platforms available, reliable, and performing well.
• Design, build, and manage high-availability, replication, and disaster recovery setups.
• Set up and monitor backup and recovery plans.
• Analyse database performance and tune systems for efficiency.
• Find and fix incidents and technical problems in database environments.
• Run and support Linux systems and virtualized infrastructure.
• Help manage and support cloud infrastructure.
• Take part in building, maintaining, and improving Kubernetes environments and container-based solutions.
• Work with infrastructure and development teams to keep platform services stable, scalable, and secure.

Requirements

• A bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in DevOps, systems administration, database administration, or a similar infrastructure role.
• Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle Database, MongoDB, and Linux.
• Solid skills in database installation and configuration, high-availability architectures, replication, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, performance tuning, incident analysis, and IT networking fundamentals.
• Preferred: experience with a cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Preferred: hands-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters.
• Preferred: experience with containerized environments such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
• Preferred: knowledge of DevOps and infrastructure automation best practices.
• Professional proficiency in English.
