DevOps Engineer - Cloud Automation

You will join a multi-disciplinary team that builds, secures and runs the shared platform on which client mission applications are deployed. The platform is EC2 and Kubernetes infrastructure hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and C2S, across multiple security domains, and it is managed with infrastructure as code and GitOps so that every environment is reproducible and configured the same way.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the pipelines that take applications from commit to production, including continuous integration and delivery, hardened container images, automated scanning, and controlled promotion of approved artifacts into air-gapped environments.
• Help teammates who handle Authorization to Operate (ATO) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) work, mainly by fixing security findings in platform infrastructure and container images.
• Provide Tier 1-3 support for the deployed platform.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, platform engineering or cloud infrastructure engineering.
• 3 years of experience with Amazon Web Services or a comparable cloud platform, covering compute, storage, networking and/or identity services such as EC2, S3, VPC and IAM.
• 2 years of experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins and/or ArgoCD.
• 2 years of experience with containers and Kubernetes orchestration. AWS EKS experience is preferred.
• Experience writing and maintaining infrastructure as code with Terraform, CloudFormation or similar tools.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash or a comparable language for automation and operations tooling.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher (Security+, CISSP, CASP or equivalent), or DoD 8140 equivalent.
• Bonus points if you have:
• Experience using AI agents such as Claude Code, Codex or OpenCode for software development and operational tasks, such as deploying and updating software in Kubernetes clusters.
• Working knowledge of Linux system administration.
• Experience with secrets management and least-privilege access control, such as AWS Pod Identities, Secrets Manager and External Secrets Operator.
• Experience delivering software into air-gapped, cross-domain or otherwise restricted-network environments.
• Associate or Professional level cloud certification.
• Security clearance: you must hold an active Top Secret clearance and be willing to sit for a polygraph.

Conditions

Pay range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington and the District of Columbia: $106,300 - $206,200 USD base pay. Actual pay depends on factors such as office location, role, skill set and experience level.
