The role focuses on designing and building cloud-native applications with the SAP Cloud Application Programming model (CAP), inside a team that supports growth and learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the results of your assigned sub-projects, working on your own within your area and the defined policies and processes.
• Model complex data with CDS and CQL for HDI containers, and package and deploy with the Cloud MTA Build Tool.
• Build extensions with ABAP Cloud and enable real-time messaging through SAP Event Mesh.
• Create high-performance Fiori apps with SAPUI5, including custom XML views, OData V4 binding and Cloud SDK integration.
• Design and run generative AI workflows in SAP Build to automate complex business processes.
• Coordinate distributed data processing in SAP Datasphere and deploy fine-tuned models to SAP AI Core with the FedML library.
• Build large data pipelines with PySpark and Databricks, using Apache Arrow Flight for fast, zero-copy data exchange.
• Apply data governance and privacy controls with SAP HANA Data Anonymization.
• Automate BTP provisioning on Kyma and Cloud Foundry with BTP CLI scripts that manage subaccounts, entitlements and service instances.
• Lead hands-on proof-of-concepts that benchmark distributed systems with JMeter.
• Plan multi-region database replication with PostgreSQL and verify horizontal scaling within cloud clusters.

Requirements

• Hold a bachelor's degree, or a foreign equivalent, in computer science, engineering or a related field, plus five years of progressive experience after the degree in this role or a related one.
• Alternatively, hold a master's degree, or a foreign equivalent, in computer science, engineering or a related field, plus three years of experience in this role or a related one.
• Have three years of experience building multi-tenant applications on SAP BTP with the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) and CAP.
• Have three years of experience building SAP Fiori apps with SAPUI5 and OData V4 services from the SAP Cloud SDK.
• Have three years of experience writing custom CDS annotations and CDS/CQL data models for SAP HANA HDI containers.
• Have three years of experience securing enterprise apps with Principal Propagation, XSUAA, SAP Cloud Identity Services and SAP Cloud Connector.
• Have three years of experience deploying to Kyma and Cloud Foundry with the Cloud MTA Build Tool and automating BTP service entitlements with the btp CLI.
• Have three years of experience combining SAP Datasphere with the FedML library to deploy and orchestrate distributed machine learning models on SAP AI Core.
• Have three years of experience building integration flows with SAP Integration Suite, including API Management, Event Mesh and Cloud Integration, linking hybrid on-premise and cloud ERP systems through events.
• Have three years of experience with semantic retrieval on SAP HANA Machine Learning, data anonymization with SAP HANA, and workflow automation with SAP Build.
• Have two years of experience building low-latency streaming apps on Databricks with Delta Lake, using the Apache Arrow Flight protocol for cross-platform data integration across distributed data lakes.
• Have two years of experience building scalable proof-of-concepts for multi-region replication with Apache Cassandra, load partitioning across multi-node cloud clusters, and JMeter benchmarking of distributed systems.

Conditions

This is a hybrid role based in Palo Alto, CA.

The role requires no travel.

The annual base salary range is $172,369 to $206,460.

The targeted combined range, including base salary and variable incentive target, is $172,369 to $229,400.

The final offer falls within the range and depends on education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location and the selection process.

Variable incentive amounts are target-based, and actual payouts depend on company and individual performance.
