Description

You would join the Engineering Excellence and Experience (E3) group, which builds the engineering foundation for the company's work in medicine.

E3 provides application lifecycle platforms, core developer platforms and AI tools. It builds application security and testing into the engineering workflow, offers low-code tools to non-technical creators, and surfaces data-driven insights. The goal is faster, more secure, higher-quality software delivery across the company.

As a Developer Advocate, you act as a customer success lead, engineer-educator and community builder for the E3 technical ecosystem. You are a hands-on technical partner between the global developer community and internal platform teams.

You work through real developer workflows to remove delivery friction, and you give honest feedback on platform gaps to the product squads. You help practitioners through working relationships and shared good practice, so the community gets value from the tools and the platform teams understand what users need.

The company employs more than 100,000 people worldwide.

Job reference: RDT2026.

Responsibilities

  • Build sample integrations and templates that connect core E3 platforms with varied, business-specific pipelines.
  • Help engineers through hands-on troubleshooting, architecture reviews and pairing sessions, showing modern software practices in action.
  • Mentor internal engineers and platform squad members, sharing technical knowledge, best practice and guidance on embedded AppSec and AI tools.
  • Give platform squads direct feedback on bugs, write feature requests and record workflow friction.
  • Report developer feedback trends, adoption milestones and bottlenecks clearly to E3 leadership and stakeholders.
  • Take part in platform product vision discussions and push for better documentation, API usability and the end-to-end developer experience.
  • Create presentations, demos, technical blogs and sample solutions that show what E3 can do.
  • Support the internal engineering community through inner-sourcing, internal tech talks and hackathons.
  • Speak for E3 across the company business units and encourage its capabilities to spread naturally through the company.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Previous experience in full-stack development, DevOps or platform engineering, and you are comfortable writing code and reviewing architecture pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude and automated code review agents.
  • Understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), CI/CD engines and container orchestration.
  • A track record of building reference architectures, starter kits and mock environments that developers can clone and deploy within minutes.
  • Strong customer focus, ownership, initiative and drive.
  • You can work independently and use sound judgement in complex, fast-moving and unclear situations.
  • You are willing to speak at internal conferences, global engineering events and inner-source meetups.
  • Strong written and spoken storytelling for technical audiences, with a record of sharing knowledge through blogs, tech talks and interactive workshops.
  • A record of working across Product, Engineering, Security and Compliance teams to surface workflow friction and change roadmaps based on developer feedback.
  • Practical engineering judgement, favouring stable, usable solutions that work today over perfection that delays delivery.
  • A focus on the full user journey, so every platform capability comes with clear documentation, smooth APIs and accessible user support.
