Design Manager

Description

You will lead a design team, overseeing its development and governance while building a culture that values quality, new ideas and collaboration across the portfolio.

The role covers the design execution work of the regional businesses in Western Australia and South Australia.

The company is a global infrastructure consulting firm with over 50,000 planners, designers, engineers and other professionals. Its projects span transportation, buildings, water, new energy and the environment, and it is a publicly traded Fortune 500 firm whose Professional Services business had $16.1 billion in revenue in fiscal year 2025.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design execution functions in the Western Australia and South Australia regional businesses.
• Find ways to raise quality and improve operational performance.
• Drive continuous improvement and oversee revision control, life-cycle replacement, and the assessment and management of changes to design software platforms.
• Recruit, develop and plan succession for your team.
• Build a supportive, inclusive team where people take ownership of their work and grow professionally.
• Keep every project delivering to high standards of quality, safety and client satisfaction.

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary or vocational training in engineering design and drafting, or engineering technology.
• Experience and certification in using and administering design and drafting platforms, including Autodesk Advance Steel, Plant 3D, Civil 3D and Revit.
• Experience and certification with Bentley MicroStation.
• Experience with design data management platforms, including Autodesk Vault and ProjectWise.
• Team leadership and business leadership experience in consulting engineering within the mining and/or industrial sectors.

Conditions
