Description

The company builds software that helps physicians move through their work quickly.

Each year in the U.S., billions of patient images are taken, and almost all of them are read and diagnosed by radiologists, who sit at the center of diagnostic care. Over 80% of healthcare data passes through radiology IT systems.

Radiologists work with outdated, scattered tools that slow them down and limit how much care health systems can deliver.

The company is based in San Francisco, operates as a cloud-native software business, and has employees in many countries.

Its core product is a single AI-powered operating system that covers the whole radiology workflow.

The team is growing its design group and hiring an early-career Product Designer. You will work on complex, high-stakes software with a small senior team and take real ownership early. You report to the Director of Product.

The role rests on the belief that understanding users deeply is the basis of good design.

Radiologists repeat the same tasks hundreds of times a day, so small gains add up across a shift. Most of your time will go to exploring problems, sketching, prototyping, and testing with clinicians, researchers, engineers, and product managers who lead their fields.

You start with well-scoped problems alongside a senior designer, then take on larger parts of core workflows as you ramp up.

No radiology background is required. The company will train you clinically and values curiosity and design fundamentals over a long résumé.

Responsibilities

  • Bring research and observations into product decisions so the user's perspective is heard.
  • Define, prototype, test, and refine solutions with product, engineering, and clinical colleagues.
  • Sketch and wireframe at low and high fidelity in Figma, moving quickly from idea to something testable.
  • Use AI tools such as Claude to explore faster and build working prototypes, then test them with clinicians and refine them with your own judgment.
  • Join user research and usability sessions and turn the findings into design changes.
  • Design information architecture, interface, and interaction patterns for dense, desktop-first workflows.
  • Prepare organized, annotated, well-documented designs for engineering handoff.
  • Review released work to check that it matches the intended design.
  • Build components and documentation for the in-house design system.
  • Take part in design critiques, giving and receiving feedback and explaining your decisions.

Requirements

  • Curiosity, the trait the company values most: you ask why, study how people really work, and enjoy learning a complex field.
  • Strong Figma skills, including components, auto layout, and prototyping, expected even at entry level because Figma is the primary design tool.
  • Comfortable using AI tools such as Claude to help build prototypes.
  • Work well with others: ask for input early, welcome feedback, and give it thoughtfully.
  • Able to explain the reasoning behind your design decisions, in conversation and in writing.
  • Some familiarity with research methods to help drive discovery. Support is provided.
  • Solid grasp of UX fundamentals: user flows, information architecture, interaction design, usability, and accessibility.
  • Preferred: 0 to 2 years of professional experience in UX or product design, including internships, apprenticeships, freelance work, or substantial project work.
  • Preferred: a portfolio showing your full process (problem, exploration, iteration, outcome) for at least two web or desktop application projects. Student and personal projects are welcome.
  • Preferred: a bachelor's degree in design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferred: internship or project experience in healthcare, MedTech, or another complex, expert-user domain.
  • Preferred: experience with data-dense or desktop-first interfaces.
  • Preferred: exposure to design systems, whether using or contributing to one.
  • Preferred: familiarity with AI or machine learning driven product experiences.
  • Preferred: comfort reading basic front-end concepts such as HTML/CSS and component libraries.
  • Preferred: experience running or supporting usability tests.
