Description

The global digital technology team builds digital capabilities across the company, with business-minded technologists working on AI, data and scalable technology to support the company's healthcare work.

This is a delivery leadership role, mainly as Solution Train Engineer (STE) and Release Train Engineer (RTE), with the option to work as a Program Manager, Service Delivery Manager or Agile Coach when the organization needs it.

The company has more than 100,000 employees worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Set the scope for complex, high-impact initiatives and give direction on scope strategy, frameworks and practice.
  • Manage significant scope changes so strategic direction holds and disruption stays low, and find ways to make scope processes work better.
  • Lead the analysis of difficult delivery problems that cross team and department lines, and help decide how to respond.
  • Own delivery on major initiatives, shape the strategic solution and reach agreement through clear persuasion and facilitation.
  • Spot strategic risks and opportunities early, and coach colleagues on solving problems.
  • Identify key stakeholders, including senior management, map complex stakeholder networks, and build and run engagement and communication plans.
  • Shape stakeholder decisions on delivery, resolve conflicts and build working relationships across the organization.
  • Lead across major products in a product line or domain, embed Agile practice, drive organizational change and push innovation.
  • Assess strategic solution options and propose improvements that move strategic objectives forward.
  • Run complex projects, services and multi-team value streams across domains, including end-to-end execution, Program Increment (PI) planning and sync cadences for large programs.
  • Work through unclear delivery requirements and put delivery frameworks in place across complicated stakeholder and technical landscapes.
  • Use deep knowledge of pharmaceutical and life sciences markets to shape delivery strategy, lead adoption of SAFe and other delivery practices, and improve efficiency, quality and time to market.

Requirements

  • More than 10 years of hands-on RTE and STE work, coordinating multi-team Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and Solution Trains in complex enterprise settings.
  • A record of working in senior delivery roles such as Program Manager, STE, RTE or Agile Coach, and running large, mission-critical programs to success.
  • Solid experience embedding Agile practice, driving continuous improvement and leading change across product lines or multi-discipline areas.
  • A proven ability to build lasting relationships with senior executives, product owners, architects and cross-functional teams.
  • Deep working knowledge of SAFe, Lean governance, dependency mapping and modern software delivery methods.
  • Understanding of GxP, CSV and FDA regulations, and the ability to meet them within an Agile delivery framework.
  • Solid business knowledge and market awareness, with the ability to turn strategy into clear execution roadmaps.
  • Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills to clear systemic bottlenecks, cross-boundary dependencies and technical conflicts.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise architecture, the software delivery lifecycle (SDLC) and release governance across cloud and enterprise platforms.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and negotiation skills, with the ability to build consensus and resolve conflict.
  • A track record of coaching and mentoring junior delivery managers, Scrum Masters and engineers.
  • Strongly preferred: experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
  • Highly desirable: experience with enterprise CRM platforms such as Veeva, Salesforce Health Cloud, SAP CRM or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Preferred: relevant certifications such as SAFe RTE, SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC), SAFe Program Consultant, PMP or equivalent.
