Description

The company builds digital services for public, healthcare, defence and commercial clients, including Workday solutions.

You will lead delivery within one sector client portfolio, which is public, healthcare, defence or commercial.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams and clients to set up conditions for successful delivery, help teams solve complex problems, and keep improving how they work.

The role includes building trusted client relationships, supporting business growth, and helping develop people and culture across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Define the critical success factors for each project, beyond on time, on budget and to scope, and make sure every work stream has a plan to reach them.
  • Manage project finances, keeping forecasts and reports accurate and delivery aligned with agreed commercial and profit targets.
  • Spot ways to add value for clients, manage their expectations early, and resolve issues quickly.
  • Manage, coach and develop a small team, with a focus on individual performance.
  • Make sure each team member has clear goals, regular feedback, and timely, constructive appraisals.
  • Set learning and development objectives so team members build and keep the skills the project needs.
  • Lead staffing of teams and onboarding of new members.
  • Build constructive, collaborative relationships with the client, other suppliers and third parties.
  • Set up and enforce suitable project governance and technical quality standards across the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project risks and issues, escalating them when needed.
  • Make sure you and your team follow all confidentiality and non-disclosure policies and protect information at all times.
  • Support growth of current and new customer relationships by working with Sales, Account Leads and Account Management, including on proposals, procurement and customer engagement.
  • Share project successes inside the company, with customers and through external industry channels.
  • Understand the contracts and commercial terms on our projects and prevent non-compliance from harming the company.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement within the Management Capability.
  • Keep up with thinking from the Technology, Experience Design and Consulting capabilities and align your work with it.
  • Encourage new ideas in technology and process, inside and outside your project.
  • Help with recruitment to support steady organisational growth.

Requirements

  • Active SC clearance.
  • Minimum 3 years in a similar role with UK defence sector organisations, which is mandatory.
  • Experience delivering complex digital programmes in a consultancy, professional services or similar environment.
  • Digital delivery experience and stakeholder management in a complex setting.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
  • Experience balancing delivery outcomes, customer needs and commercial considerations, including financial reporting and budget management.
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing individuals and teams.
  • Experience planning capacity and building multidisciplinary teams for complex digital programmes.
  • Eligible to achieve SC clearance, which requires living in the UK continuously for 5 years and passing background checks. This applies to the public and defence sectors.
  • Desirable: experience delivering programmes in government, healthcare, defence or another highly regulated environment.
  • Desirable: curiosity about emerging technologies, including AI, and willingness to explore how they can improve delivery, team experience and customer outcomes.
  • Desirable: business development experience, ideally including winning follow-on work from existing clients.
  • Desirable: experience delivering digital transformation projects, and evidence of innovating or leading initiatives that improve management and leadership practice in a team or organisation.
