Description

The role sits in the Application Infrastructure DevOps team, which keeps the Finance Full Suite application running. The team handles health, availability, scaling and ongoing modernization of the core platform behind the company's global financial operations and reporting.

The platform runs across a hybrid setup: on-premises Red Hat OpenShift, virtual machines and bare-metal servers, plus cloud-hosted environments. The data estate includes Oracle, OraaS, MongoDB, IBM Object Store and Snowflake (on Private Cloud, AWS).

The company is a global financial institution. The Loans processing team is part of it, and the work suits people strong in analysis, problem solving and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Run the day-to-day reliability, performance, capacity and upkeep of databases on physical and VM servers, OpenShift clusters and cloud VMs (Oracle, OraaS, MongoDB, IBM Object Store, Snowflake).
  • Plan and carry out migrations of legacy databases and big data platforms from on-premises to AWS, GDP (GCP Data Platform) and Snowflake (Private Cloud, AWS), aiming for zero or near-zero downtime.
  • Build agents and automated tools for real-time telemetry monitoring, automatic index and query tuning, anomaly detection and self-healing workflows, using AI and agentic AI.
  • Work with Red Hat OpenShift and containerized database services to simplify microservice-to-database connections and their lifecycle.
  • Maintain and test high availability and disaster recovery setups, automatic failover and backup and restore procedures against strict enterprise finance RTO and RPO targets.
  • Write reusable Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) and Python scripts for routine DBA work, patching, security scanning, access management and automated release checks.
  • Apply data governance, encryption at rest and in transit, audit trail checks and vulnerability fixes across all database environments.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of hybrid infrastructure: bare-metal servers, Linux VMs, cloud VMs, and Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes.
  • Proven experience designing and running complex database migrations to AWS and GCP (Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience building or using AI, agentic AI or machine learning tools, or custom Python scripts, to automate database operations, telemetry analysis or performance tuning.
  • Advanced skill in Python, shell scripting, Ansible and Terraform.
  • Ability to troubleshoot slow queries, read execution plans, remove memory and I/O bottlenecks and tune distributed workloads.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong experience with Oracle, MongoDB and big data technologies.
  • Proven track record in database migrations to AWS and GDP.
  • Experience developing or maintaining AI or agentic AI solutions for database automation.
  • Expertise in database performance tuning, high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting.
